We made it to Friday again!
Today’s Feature Friday is a new blog to me, Libbie with A Life Unfolding. She’s a 50-something blogger and mom of two who lives in a 950 s.f. ranch house with 2 bedrooms one bath. Libbie says it’s perfect for their empty nest life now. And her design philosophy is mixing high with low, old and new and always adding an element of quirk. I think you’ll enjoy her tiny house and how she’s personalized it all with lots of DIY projects.
Libbie’s house is in Grand Rapids, MI, a booming town known for inexpensive homes, an amazing art scene and craft beer. When they downsized to a smaller house, they did the work themselves, living here Monday through Thursday and at their lake house on the weekends. Sounds pretty perfect to me!
I love sharing all types of houses, big and small and I think that smaller houses are so interesting to see, so hopefully you’ll get some ideas if you live in a smaller house too.
Living room space.
Looks like a real comfy place to sit.
He’s a cutie!
Hallway
A really textural pallet wall adds so much quirk to this wall.
A floor mirror bounces light around the room.
Libble did some work on her kitchen, giving it a fresh look with the new backsplash, sink, countertop and faucet.
And she DIY’d this concrete countertop on the bar.
Dining area off the kitchen.
Master bedroom
And the bathroom.
Guest room with a fresh look for the closet doors.
Very pretty and restful.
Her outdoor spaces are very impressive with those succulents on the fence.
Outdoor dining space looks so pretty.
What a great space to spend some time outdoors.
I hope you enjoyed this look at Libbie’s cute home at A Life Unfolding. Go over and visit her and tell her I sent you. She’s also got a cute lake house to peek at too, so look for that.
Have a great weekend!

Rhoda thanks for sharing a smaller home. Many of us are downsizing as we get older and this really inspired me

Arlene, I’m so glad! I know many people live in smaller homes and I love to see them too. Downsizing is not a bad idea!

Wonderful small home. So refreshing after all the over the top houses in blogs. I don’t have a small home but find these more interesting than the other end of the spectrum.

I really enjoyed this post too. I have always loved smaller homes like this and it is interesting to see how they are decorated and laid out. We are hoping to downsize to something smaller too in the future. Thanks for sharing Rhoda.

I like this. Most do not live in huge houses and will never live in a huge house. I really like what she has done. Thanks for sharing.
