Last year, I helped a friend here in town with her exercise room. With an extra bedroom she didn’t need, it was the perfect space to turn into her own little workout room. A place to get away and read or workout while tuning into the TV.
A place of her own.
Don’t we all need a space like this? So, we added a few pieces of furniture. With the addition of a rattan chair and ottoman from Pottery Barn, along with a throw and pillow, this corner became a cozy spot to sit and read. There are a few pieces still left to be found, like a side table. She was trying out the shutters in this spot and might be hanging those on the wall, which I like a lot. It adds some architectural interest to the space. A print over this sofa table will be a good addition too, still to be found. A zebra rug adds some fun pop to the floor and her exercise bike is across the room. I thought a large free-standing mirror would add some extra light to the space and bounce it back into the room. So, when I spotted this pretty mirror at a furniture store that was closing out, the price was right and Maureen bought it. You can see the TV and furniture it is sitting on, which she already had. In the bathroom, we brought in a pretty blue by Benjamin Moore. I think this one ended up being Wythe Blue, after trying out a few samples. She had already purchased this pretty cabinet which holds some towels and beachy accessories. Maureen is my friend who has the gorgeous beach house in Gulf Shores that we stayed in a couple of years ago, so the beach is very near and dear to her family. I love this tassel she picked up along the way and it’s the perfect piece of jewelry for this cabinet.
These pretty mirrored seashells, I found at Target on clearance and they were a nice addition to the bathroom.
With a monogrammed shower curtain in chocolate brown to flow with the brown granite on the sink, it’s a beautiful retreat space.
Wouldn’t you love to have a space like this?

Where did you find the teal blue pillow? I would love to have one!
Rhoda says
Sherry, that pillow is something that Maureen found on her own, so I don’t know where it came from. If I find out more details, I’ll let you know.

I would love to have a beautiful exercise room like that. I might actually exercise if I did! The colors and textures are fantastic. Great job, Rhoda!

I keep telling my hubby that an exercise space can be decorated. I really like the mirror behind the bike! Good idea on the rug too. 🙂

Great job. I’m afraid my idea of a workout would be sitting in that comfy chair with a good book or magazine. Yep, my brain would be the only thing to get a workout!

LOve her room. I had my hubby bring my treadmill out to the family room (that noone sits in) so I could watch TV while I am on it. When we do ahve company it is easy to put back into the gym that he has. THAT is an uninspired spot, believe me:):)

Rhoda,
You did it great! I know how workout room can look empty and ugly. This is beautiful, feminine and very versatile. That’s a great idea! I love the way you’ve accessorized. It’s a place that you go and can do your workout and appreciate you’re surrounds at the same time. That’s rare! 😉
By the way, Rhoda.. have you heard about the Chineses Vase that sold for 69.3 mil? Go take a look at my blog if you can, ok? 🙂
Thank you and enjoy your Saturday!

I wish I had an exercise room. I keep saying I’m going to buy a treadmill, but the only place I could put it is in the corner of the master bedroom behind the door. It rains so much in the Pacific Northwest, it’s impossible to go for walks on a regular basis.

What a beautiful spot to exercise. I’m afraid mine is in the dusty ol’ basement.

Another fabulous job with paint and decor!
Any idea where I could find a zebra rug at a budget price? 😉
