Feature Friday: Bright Bold & Beautiful

I love finding new blogs and I love sharing inspiration and talent with all of you, so when I find a new to me site with some beautiful pics to share, it’s a perfect fit for my Feature Friday series.

Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, meet Laura Trevey, a wonderful artist, who I have just discovered from Bright, Bold and Beautiful.  She is a delightful artistic talent and I think you will love her original paintings.  I have a particular fondness for watercolors, so have been swooning over her colorful Etsy products and her new studio space that she just finished up.

How would  you like to work in a space like this?  Energizing and beautiful, it’s a work of art in itself.  You can see Laura’s works of art hanging on the wall.  Like this adorable and colorful dress hanging above Laura’s desk.  Laura shopped at Ikea, which I think is so smart.  I just visited that store again last weekend and it truly has some great ideas for a home office and organizing.

Here is what Laura says about her Ikea purchases:

My desk is made up of two Vika Artur trestles and a nice glass beveled edge top. I love my Jules swivel chair as well.

Here’s how Laura describes her new studio:

I cannot tell you how happy I am that my new Art Studio is finished. Every morning the light pours in this bright and cheerful room and provides me with so much inspiration for the day! In the center of the room, I created a custom island with wide shelves. I designed it specifically to store my watercolor paper which is 26″ by 40″. It is movable with casters on the bottom,so I can place it anywhere in the room.

More of Laura’s paintings.  I hope you’ll check out Laura’s Etsy shop for affordable art for your home.  Those hydrangea prints really caught my eye.  The pegboard is such a great addition to an art space or craft space for that matter.  Perfect!

Laura shares her wall color:  Spring Mint by Benjamin Moore, such a pretty, yet soft blue for a space like this.

I hope you got inspired by seeing Laura’s studio space.  Thank you Laura for letting me highlight your work AND your studio.  It’s so energizing!

$100 Question Promo Graphic

I’m honored to get to ask the $100 Question this week on Blogher, so I hope you’ll all go on over, sign in and answer the question for a chance to win $100.  All you have to do is register on Blogher with an email address and leave a comment to be eligible.

Here’s the question:  If your house was on fire and you only had time to grab ONE thing, what would it be?

I’m going to have to answer that I would grab my memory box of old photos and memorabilia from the closet.  And my laptop if I had time to grab it too.  How about you?  Go on over and leave your comment and you just might win.  Contest will be open through Monday, May 17th.

What a lovely space. I sure wish there was an IKEA near here. The closest one is 2 hrs. away. I may just have to go and check out the couch you posted about, with the slipcover. I’m wondering about the quality….

Oh thanks for sharing. I love the canvas above her desk. I am getting ready to do something above my fireplace and I like the idea of one dramatic item. The whole oversized thing. Very cool.
