Enjoy this repeat Feature Friday from 2014, it’s still just as timely and beautiful as when I first shared it. You’ll love this farmhouse in Round Top, TX!

**************************************

If you haven’t met Anita, the talented blogger at Cedar Hill Farmhouse yet, you are in for a treat.  Anita has a beautiful French country style that is showcased in not one, but two homes that her family owns in Texas.  She has a city  house in the Houston area and a country house of 30 acres in Round Top, TX.  How cool is that?  And they are both so gorgeous you are going to be drooling over Anita’s pretty photographs.  I love showing off all different styles on my blog and Anita’s is classic and elegant and timeless.  So, sit back and enjoy the tour!

exterior gas-lights

Their beautiful city home, which had me from the exterior shot.  I love this porch and door.

staircase

Inside, a beautiful staircase and stunning hardwoods are waiting.

SOFA-ruffle

Anita loves slipcovers and linen and features it all in her living room.

fireplace

Fireplace and mantel create a cozy feel in the room.

French-counter-stools-2

The kitchen is a masterpiece with white cabinets and beautiful granite and backsplash.  So elegant.

kitchen faucet

Farmhouse sink and jewelry on the faucet round out a stunning kitchen.

butlers pantry

I love this area of the cabinets with those extra special shelves flanking the window.

country-french-kitchen

French Country dining room has so much character and appeal.  Notice the elegant lantern and that French armoire holding dishware.

french-dining-room

What a pretty space this is!

shades-bedroom

The master bedroom is a masterpiece and appears to be huge.  Those floors, oh those floors.  What a pretty and spacious room.

master 3

French pieces take the stage in the master bedroom with so many elegant pieces.  Note the sconces next to the bed.

french-chairs-in-farm-master

A sitting area in the master bedroom. Anita has great taste, doesn’t she?

French tapestry settee

Settee in the corner.  Note the millwork details in the house.  Anita and her family just moved in here last year, it’s a newly built home.

antique armoire

Gorgeous pieces that she has collected.

master-bath

The master bath vanity area.

curtain-in-bath

Clawfoot tub in the master bathroom.

bath-chair-and-shower

Love this chair and side table. I can’t imagine having a bathroom this big, but it sure is pretty.

french-desk

Dressing room with room for a desk.  Wow at that big closet space!

laundry-room1-682x1024

Even the laundry room is elegant and classic.

ceiling-tins1-986x1024

Rustic shelf in the laundry.

study1-877x1024

The study with reclaimed and repurposed sliding doors.  I love how they added in some rustic pieces to this newly built house.

h-powder-room-682x1024

Powder room, a little jewel box of a space.

french-girls-room-2

Anita has 2 daughters and they each have special rooms.  I love this one, makes me feel like I’m in France just looking at it.

french-girls-room

So cute!

toile-bedroom

And a toile bedroom is cozy and elegant too.

table3-825x1024

Anita does a great job with taking pics and I love her tablesettings.

Now, let’s go to the farmhouse in Round Top and take a little tour.

ironing board party

Can you imagine having this as your backyard?  Wow, it’s beautiful! I believe those are blue bonnets, am I right?

toile table back porch

This shot looks right out of a magazine. What a gorgeous table setting and countryside.  Must be a great place to get away and relax.

3-red-and-white-beds

One of the rooms at the farm has 3 twin beds and I love this set up for guests.   How cute!

bed-and-mirror

Another bedroom at the farm, out in the country.

bench on deck

Benches and seating to enjoy that scenery and outdoor living.

treehouse2

Check this out!  It’s what Anita calls her treehouse.  What a neat deck this is, built into the trees with a tin roof.  I can see a party out here!

treehouse

Now that’s what I call getting away from it all!

Are you drooling yet?  Anita’s house is so grown up and elegant, both her places.  What a treat to tour and I know you enjoyed it as much as I did.  I love to see how other people live and that’s what makes life interesting.  Everyone has their own unique way of decorating their homes and there is so much beauty to enjoy and appreciate out there.  Cedar Hill Ranch is beautiful, the city version and country version.  Stop over and say hello to Anita, I know she would love to meet you too!

    Hi Rho,

You know that this post had me at the beginning since it’s Anita is from Texas. Hand over my heart! Round Top is beautiful. Yes, those are blue bonnets. We have gorgeous photos of our Granddaughter sitting in field of them last Spring. I have to say that her Round Top house is my favorite. Can’t wait to get started on my little TX home.

Anita is obviously a master of French style. Beautiful! I find them both VERY well done, but I think our family would like the country one more. That “treehouse” looks perfect for sooo many entertaining events, and I looooove the bedroom with 3 beds. Thanks for sharing!

Lovely photo shoot! Beautifully decorated spaces. Does she do her own photography for the blog? If so, she has a ‘good eye.’ I still have a running question (looking at those fabric covered chairs on the tree house): How do people deal with outdoor fabrics? Do you bring it all in when the summer is at its most humid or when it is rainy weather? Does no one deal with mildew? This past week I cleaned two of the rocking chairs on my front porch (in preparation for storing them for the winter). No fabric involved, and even then, the cleaning process was grueling and labor intense.

Your feature Friday’s are my favorite, but I have to say this one took my breath! Beautiful photos, chic decor and a perfect blend of re-claimed and newly-claimed accessories. I especially LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the reclaimed valance over the claw-foot tub. So unique. Beautiful homes, Anita! Great feature, Rhoda! Thanks for sharing.

Rhoda, I look forward to your feature Fridays! Both of Anita’s homes have me drooling. Her decor and photography are stunning! She’s very sweet too. Wow! how blessed she is to have 2 gorgeous homes. She is one talented lady. She made some beautiful slipcovers to cover her antique red patterned settees. Thanks for featuring both of her homes. I remember when she first started her blog. She is extremely talented.

That is a beautiful home, the floors, the design and the lovely big bedroom. But, you know something I will be glad when the color grey goes out of style. It seems like everyone is decorating with that color. I love color in my house, pretty color like you have in your home.

I would love to know if the brick steps color is Brimstone made by General Shale. I’ve been trying to find this color of brick and General Shale’s brimstone is the closest color I can find. Any help us greatly appreciated! P.S. The house is beautiful!
