Feature Friday: Designing Vibes

Happy Friday to y’all!  And welcome to another Feature Friday.  This week I’m introducing you to Erica, with Designing Vibes.  She is just up the interstate from me in Chattanooga, TN and she has a beautiful blog full of inspiration on fixing up houses.  She and her hubby bought their first house, a brand new Craftsman style, but decided later on that they wanted to cut costs so she could stay home with their 2 boys and they sold that home and bought an 80’s fixer upper which they’ve been working on for the last 2 years. I admire that so much and I know you will love seeing what they’ve done to their house to really update  it and make it beautiful. Erica has a gorgeous Boho style that is colorful and patterned and really enhances their home.  I think you’re going to enjoy this one!  And Erica was just featured in this month’s I Did It column for Better Homes and Gardens for her innovative pendant light shades over her kitchen island, so take note of that.

Their 80’s fixer-upper hasn’t had anything done to the outside yet, but wait until you see the inside.

Inside the front doors is a pretty entryway, welcoming folks to their home.

Erica has a nice style and puts things together well. I love her light paint colors, choice of lighting and her Bohemian vibe.

Greatroom/family room

Erica is so pretty!

I really love the feel in her home and you have to go look at the Before pics to see all the changes. They’ve done some outstanding projects already.

Dining room so pretty and casual.

There are those pendant shades that landed her in BHG magazine this month.

I love that they kept the original kitchen cabinets and painted them all and added some special touches.

They had quartz countertops already and she kept those too and they are lovely, very neutral.

A rustic door was built for the pantry.

Such a pretty kitchen!

Easy breezy mudroom.

Erica’s office space

With two little boys, she has spaces carved out for both of them.

The master bedroom is elegant and delightful.

Love all those pretty shades of blue.

Outside in the backyard is a pretty pool, all ready for summer entertaining.

Great job Erica on all you’ve done so far on your fixer upper home!

I know you enjoyed that, didn’t you?  Be sure and visit Erika at Designing Vibes and that post is a good Before and After recap of their 80’s fixer upper, which now looks so fantastic!

    Rhoda,
I have been reading her blog for a while. She has done an amazing job with her 80’s fixer upper. That pool area was something else. I felt bad for her when she was telling how much money they spent on the wall surrounding the pool and the pool itself. Now it is beautiful!

Rhoda , Erica’s blog is one of my favorites. It is amazing to me that she can actually do all that and still have two toddlers running around. Her style is a breath of fresh air.
