Feature Friday: The Endearing Home

You all loved this Feature Friday from 2014, so I’m sharing again. Please enjoy this tour of a pretty home in NC. It looks like Lauren is no longer blogging as of 2016, but her blog is still active so stop over and visit.

**********************************************

I’m back today with another great Feature Friday, introducing you to Lauren, who blogs at The Endearing Home.  Lauren lives in NC and is a wife and mom to two twin teenage daughters and she loves to decorate her home.  I love seeing Traditional style done well and Lauren does it very well, creating a soothing and calm oasis for her family.  Her house is an open floor plan in many areas and she has done a beautiful job of maintaining a break in rooms, but it all flows wonderfully together.

foyer2

Beginning in the foyer, Lauren added beadboard and molding to her hallway to create a nice architectural element.  I love that little foyer table and vignette she put together with the lamp.

family room overall

With a small checked drapes, her family room is very cozy and pretty.  I love how the checks add a lot of interest to the room.

family room

Her traditional style shines in accessories and the way she layers everything.

fireplace artwork

Beautiful fireplace mantel and artwork above.

And I love the natural fiber rug on the floor.

looking to breakfast room

Looking towards the breakfast area and kitchen.

kitchen breakfast area

These 2 rooms are all open to each other, but Lauren has made it all flow.

kitchen

Long peninsula separates the spaces.

kitchen to family room 2

She has a pretty white kitchen and darker countertops and this is a very warm kitchen.

kitchen island

Kitchen island and breakfast area with nice large bay windows.

dining room3

Next is the dining room with a French Country feel.

dining room hutch

Pretty creamy white French country hutch.

dining room2

Such a pretty space.

dining room

Open floor plan flows back to the living room.

living room 3

And this is another cozy space.  Love how she arranged the furniture in here for this room with a lot of windows.  Notice how she has a piano, but it’s not so noticeable with the large framed art above and reads almost as another fireplace.

living room coffee table

Lots of books on the coffee table and a cozy corner for reading.

living room windows

Layered rugs make for a warm room.

living room corner

Love the tobacco basket on the wall.

living room

An overall look at the living room.  Those big windows are so nice.

guest room2

A guest room in blues and whites is very soothing.

guest room

Lovely linens.

That’s all of Lauren’s home tour for now, but I’m sure she will be adding more as she goes along with her decorating.  What a beautiful home, isn’t it?  I knew you would enjoy seeing Lauren’s The Endearing Home and you can see her entire home tour on that link.  Hope you’ll stop by and say hello!

I love this house! The black and white checks are so different than all the other homes you see. She definitely has her own style, which I adore! I also think the kitchen is a perfect arrangement. So wonderful. Thanks for the tour!

I love seeing these homes, but would love to see some homes that are beautiful and lived in. I am sure this home was staged for the photos, but it just isn’t realistic to think this is how it looks when people live there. Real, lived in inspirations would be wonderful, and make me feel like I could actually achieve the look.

I have seen this home a few times. It is my all time favorite. If I could do my home like this I would be in ” hog heaven”. Sigh.

WOW, This is one sweet home. I can actually see myself living in this style. Maybe it is close to mine, though mine is definitely not as polished. Thanks for featuring her home. I definitely pinned several pics for future reference when we move.

Lauren’s home is beautiful and I absolutely love her taste. I can’t wait to visit her favorite shop in Cary, NC. Rhoda, your home is also lovely. You also have great taste and must be able to do just about anything. Do you do your own upholstery, diy tools and all and if so, did you learn by trial and error or did you sweet father teach you? I want to read more about your journey when I have more time. Love your blog and your talent and Lauren’s as well.
