This blog friend and I go way back! She has been blogging almost as long as I have and we met online early on and our blog paths have crossed in person along the way as well. She’s a dear person and her style is unique to most of what you’ll see in blogland.
After a divorce, Donna with Funky Junk Interiors struggled to get her house renovated and in good working order and so she resorted to decorating with junk, since she had no real money to decorate with. Â Her blog was founded on that premise and it’s still working for her today. She’s the junk queen of blogland for sure and her style is charming and quaint and totally works for her. Â Most of you have probably been to Donna’s blog before, but in case you have not, here is my introduction to Funky Junk Interiors.
Hailing from British Columbia in Canada, she’s got that cute Canadian accent that we have all heard. Aaaaay!
You might not be into junk like Donna is, but I think you’ll appreciate her charming way of displaying and photographing her home. Â It’s definitely unique, quirky, and totally represents who she is. Â Donna can do more with junk in her home than anyone I know and has built a blog on using rusty old things in such clever ways.
She has a wonderful way of displaying and styling her spaces. Â Enjoy the tour of Donna’s unique home.
Unique shutters on the windows roll shut.
Donna is a sign maker by trade for many years, so you’ll notice she has signs everywhere too.
She made her kitchen cabinets more rustic to fit her taste.

To really personalize her stairs, she painted them with different signs and distressed them to look old. Â Very clever!
Master Bedroom, cozy and charming.
She loves using old ladders in her decor.

Donna’s office space with that rustic table is useful and unique.

Donna’s work space and photography studio are junked up as well with charming DIY pieces built for storage.
Even her workspace has gotten the recycled pallet treatment.

I love Donna’s little shed out back and how pretty is Canada?
Such a cute storage shed.
Donna most definitely has a knack for putting junk together and making it pretty, don’t you think? Â Stop by Funky Junk Interiors if you haven’t visited before or if it’s been awhile. Â Tell her I sent you!
How unique! It just goes to show you don’t need a lot of money to make your home personable. Nice post.
I like her flowers placed around the house. Too many busy pieces for me!
I love Donna’s space and her blog! She truly has a knack for displaying junk in a really cool way. So glad you featured her today. That shed in her in backyard is fabulous and I love, love, love her workspace. I love rustic industrial items in the home too!
I have visited Donna’s blog before and her style is always so creative and unique. You have done a lovely presentation. I especially love hr use of ladders and the outdoor shed.
I’ve been a fan of Donna’s blog for a couple of years. Her style is different from mine, but I always love seeing how clever she is at using junk to decorate with! Her blog posts from Hawaii this past summer were a favorite too!
Thank you for featuring Donna’s Funky Junk – she is one talented and creative lady! I love her style and how she can take a cast-off and make something useful and beautiful!
My favorite from Donna’s blog was her Doll house she made for charity. It was so true to her style but in Barbie size.

One person’s junk is another’s treasure! I happen to love the way she thinks outside the box. Not everybody is creative like that. I love her folding shutters in the living room, the use of ladders, and the mantel looked lovely too. I could go on and on about the stairs…I think I like her house a lot! Lol ;-D
While the amount of stuff she has would drive me crazy, I love the way she has tastefully combined it all. I admire her dedication to beauty on a small budget and love her ingenuity. Lovely outdoor areas.
I so love Donna’s home and her amazing projects!….Great, great feature today!!! Have a great weekend!

Ooh, that shed! I enjoyed seeing the house, but I would KILL for a shed like that out back of my house to putter and play in with no distractions! Thanks for sharing this!
Just so you know Rhoda it’s not ” Aaay? ” its’s ” Eh?”
My husband rode his bicycle all the way across Canada this summer. It took him 10 weeks. He started in BC and ended in Newfoundland. Who knows? Maybe he rode past Donna’s.
Ohhh Rhoda! Thank you so much for this wonderful feature! So thrilled to be here!
