Meet Jessica, with Stay at Home-ista, a Harvard-trained architect with a flair for design, who designed her dream home with her hubby, who is also a Harvard grad. Smart much?!
Well, you can see from these pics that this dynamic duo knows what they are doing. They designed and built their dream home, a 4 year endeavor that certainly paid off. Perched on a hill in the Bay area of California, this is one beautiful dream home. Jessica is now a stay at home mom with 3 kiddos, but she loves design, as you can see by her beautifully decorated home.
I’ve been to San Francisco and the hills, they are abundant, so it’s no wonder that Jessica’s dream home is perched high on a hill. But, the views? Amazing!
Their deck takes in a full sweep of vistas, wouldn’t you love to sit out here for a spell?
Inside the foyer, a grand piano is the focal point.
A coffered ceiling in the family room adds lots of architectural details. OK, truth time! It’s homes like this one that gets me a wee bit envious. But, no matter the size or stateliness of a house, it’s all about what we do with them, isn’t it? And I’ll make mine as homey as I can get it.
She loves blues and has brought in many blues accented with orange. Beautiful view to the dining room and then into the kitchen beyond. This home is amazing!
The dining room is jaw-droppingly gorgeous with the striped chairs.
But, the show stopper in the entire house has to be the kitchen. Can you tell I’m on a kitchen watching journey these days? These white custom Shaker cabinets really got my attention. I’m happy to see my Shaker obsession is in good company with some of the finest kitchen renovations in blogland.
Jessica has white marble and marble tile on her backsplash, which is so classic and beautiful. Look out those windows at the view beyond. When you’re in the Bay Area, you are going to see lots of pretty blue water.
The stove hood is stunning too. This kitchen is a dream.
Jessica has some serious storage in her space for sure.
Let’s move on to the library. Lots of storage here too.
Upstairs hallway is calming and pretty.
The master bedroom in blues as well.
Daughter’s room in pink and green, so cute.
Her son’s room is colorful and happy.
And the new baby born last year has a pretty room too.
Jessica, you are a fabulous architect and designer and should be so proud of your beautiful home. It was a pleasure to take the tour and to see those fantastic views beyond the windows. What a dream home, indeed. Thanks for letting me share it all with my readers and I hope you’ll go over and say hello to Jessica. She’s one of the nicest bloggers too!

Out of these photos, I like the libaray the best. It is warmer to me and looks like a family uses that room. The architectural details of the home and lovely and completely unexpected when looking at the house from the outside. I love the windows too!

Ahhh! I haven’t seen the complete house tour yet – it’s gorgeous! Jessica is a sweetheart……. helllloooo out there Jessica 🙂 still wondering if YOU are the piano player in the family 🙂
Jessica @ Stay at Home-ista says
Nope, so far none of us play the piano! It was my childhood piano, but I can’t say I can still play:)

Is the library also a dining room? that would be really cool. I’ve always loved the library/dining room vibe.
Great pics!

Would love to know where the Union Jack rug under the piano came from – it’s beautiful!
Jessica @ Stay at Home-ista says
Bunny, the rug was from Z Gallerie about a year ago.

When I first got a glimpse of this kitchen in blog land I was in love! As I toured the rest of the home… I admit, I might have felt a little intimidated… but all you have to do is talk to Jessica one time to realize she is a genuine, warm, kind, completely down-to-earth woman and mother. A true sweetheart who just happens to have a drop-dead-fabulous home 🙂

Stunning house. I love the big windows in the kitchen, but I would have to have a little more color in it.

I love Jessica’s house–what a great feature! Her kitchen is just stunning…being on the East Coast its fun to see such a gorgeous example of West Coast design. I love seeing how decor trends cross the country but yet there are still unique styles in each area. And Oh, those views!
