Meet sweet blog friend, Julie, with Lilacs and Longhorns. Â She’s a Texas gal with a beautiful home that I want to share with you today. I got to meet her at Haven and even though we haven’t spent a lot of time together, I know we have a love of making our homes cozy and pretty in common. Â Julie explains on her About Me page how she came up with the name for her blog. It’s a dichotomy of terms, describing her and her hubby’s background and taste, thus Lilacs for her and Longhorns for his Texas self. Â Pretty cute!
I’m not going to do a lot of talking on this one, so enjoy the pretty pics.
I do love how Julie mixes up the family room with lots of texture, leather, wood and cozy colors.
They recently did a complete kitchen renovation, painting the cabinets and adding marble counters, which are just gorgeous.
Isn’t this one stunning kitchen?
Also love the dining room table an chairs, a cozy mix of caramel and blue.
Master bedroom retreat looks inviting and comfortable.
I have a feeling this corner is for the hubby, but the leather and cowhide rug are appealing for both.
A tween girl’s room is pretty in purple and other colorful hues.
Hope you enjoyed this Texas tour of Julie’s home at Lilacs and Longhorns. Stop on over and say hi!
Julie’s home is beautiful and interesting. It’s refreshing to see color in all the right places. Love her dining room table and chairs and they way she mixed the blue and carmel. Her kitchen in stunning! I’ll heading over to check-out her blog.
Thanks so much for the sweet feature, Rhoda! It was so nice talking with you at Haven — I enjoyed meeting your lovely parents, too! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
I am so excited to see Julie’s beautiful home featured today! Her home has always been one of my absolute favorites! Julie is one of the sweetest people I have every met and I LOVE her style! Have a great weekend Rhoda!
Love her home…..very casual and comfortable….
Love this home – cosy and inviting, yet stylish. The use of colour makes a refreshing change, as I am so tired of “white homes”!
Good blogger to feature. The kitchen is beautiful….but her hard learned lessons on stone and any subcontractors or sellers of stone is the most valuable part of exploring her site. Always, always verbal promises and assurances are worthless…get it in writing that the product and/or installation is guaranteed or there is a recourse. Timely post for me with a new house construction underway with all the stress and costly decisions on my radar. I will follow her site. Thanks for most valuable first hand information and not just a rant.
Dee,
I am so glad you found my marble series useful! Best of luck to you on your home building endeavor. I will continue to post some of my reno/contractor insights in the next few weeks, so I hope you’ll find those posts helpful as well! Have a wonderful weekend!
Julie
What a beautiful home! I love the shades of blue used throughout the house!
