Feature Friday: Love of Home

Here’s another repeat from 6 years ago, so enjoy this pretty farmhouse again. I clicked over and Susan has since moved to a Cape Cod home, so you can catch up with her at her blog. Her farmhouse is worth seeing again!
**************************

Today’s Feature Friday is a new to me blogger, Susan from Love of Home. I’m just getting to know her.  She and her family have been in their NY state 1890 farmhouse for 16 years now and it was love at first sight.  I can certainly see why.  Look at this charmer!  It was right around the corner from her childhood home and that’s where she and her family ended up.  I love stories like this!

love of home

The exterior is just the epitome of a charming farmhouse and I absolutely love it.

The back of the farmhouse is beautiful too and wait til you see all the wrap around porches.  Be still my heart!

I think I would just hang out on the porch all day.

Swinging in that swing would while away many hours.

Oh my, that is one beautiful outdoor space, this looks like a sunroom, I see windows on the left.

So gorgeous!

Of course, my turquoise loving self loves this blue painted table and chairs on the porch.  See, wouldn’t you spend time out here all the time too?

Come on in, it’s beautiful inside too.  Family values on the wall.

A mudroom bench and lockers keep things organized.  She has 3 kids to keep up with.

I love, love this living room space, with the white sofa and chairs and all the textures of hardwood floors, the natural rug and the gallery wall of family pics.

Fresh flowers on the coffee table are a nice touch.  This farmhouse feels so homey and comfortable.

kitchen

The kitchen has of course, been updated for the 21st century, which is a welcome addition.  Beautiful and open feel.

Susan has recently updated her small powder room to a neutral shade from red.

And the master bedroom has soothing shades of brown and cream.  I noticed a lot of her furniture is from Ethan Allen, classic and traditional.

Her daughter’s room, so cute and cozy.

And her son’s room is all boy.

I  love that she has kept the Ralph Lauren floral wallpaper and fabrics in this vintage black and white tiled bathroom.  It is beautiful!

I hope you enjoyed seeing Susan from Love of Home’s beautiful farmhouse and stop over and say hello!  I know she would love to meet you.

I had a nice farm house years ago. We bought it from architects who had bought the house for investment purposes and updated it. It had a huge mural on one of the living room walls which was a picture of country life from the late 1800’s. Susan’s house is gorgeous and is an example of a “real” home, not one of those that look like it’s not lived in. Love the bench lockers and of course, the beautiful porch with the swing.

It’s very rare I love every picture of every room, but I do with this home! It’s so classy but still warm
and inviting. You’ve hit a home run. I would love to be your friend who comes over for coffee in the kitchen and iced tea on the porch.

Thanks for sharing Debbie’s blog with us. Everything is beautiful. Can you tell me about the building in her yard that looks like a chapel?

I love your wonderful home.

So gorgeous! I LOVE everything about her home and when I popped over she was featuring more of your home-that’s so cool. I just had to follow her too. Hope you both have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend planned with friends and family! Thanks for sharing Rhoda.

The little building in the background of the back screened porch is our garage. The windows make it look like a chapel! Thank you all for your sweet comments! The white sofa in the living room is slipcovered so it can be washed easily! We use every room in the house!

Like alot about this house, but the kitchen still looks dated to me and while the bathroom wallpaper looks great, the matching cafe curtains are too much. Those rooms could benefit from a ‘lighter’, more modern hand like the rest of the house.
