Today’s Feature Friday is Rachel from Maison de Pax and she lives in Texas.  Rachel and her hubby had quite the adventure when they were first married and lived in Paris, where their first child was born and where she fell in love with French design.  After coming back to the US, they settled in a beautiful 1940 Colonial near the city in their home state of TX.  This home needed work and TLC and after fixing it up, they recently sold it and have moved on to another home adventure in the Texas hill country.  I can’t wait to see that one too!
But, this Colonial house is definitely worth showing off, so enjoy the beautiful tour.
I know there are differing opinions on painted brick, but I happen to love it and love the color of this home.

Older homes have such character and charm.
A covered porch in the back of the home.
Rachel has done a beautiful job with this home, infusing it with a little French style and keeping it cozy.
This kitchen is right down my white loving cabinet alley.
Rachel has 2 boys and one girl, so she’s a busy mom.
The attic has a pretty guest area, which is so charming.
I hope you enjoyed this tour of Rachel’s Colonial home at Maison de Pax. Stop over and see what she’s up to in her new home, I’ll be watching for pics of that!
Tomorrow is my parent’s 62nd wedding anniversary, so want to wish them a happy day. Â I’m so glad to still have them around to celebrate with!
Happy Anniversary to your Mom and Dad. They are such loving parents and Grandparents. God Bless them.

Happy Anniversary to your parents. God bless them.
How wonderful for such a devoted couple to make so many years together. Your dad reminds me so much of my grandpa. I grew up following him down garden rows, either planting or picking. He died when I was 12, But I still have his bucket that we picked vegetables with. He had the gift of being able to grow anything…..just like your dad. And my grandma either cooked, canned, or froze everything he grew. You are so very blessed to still have your mom and dad and to have them both be healthy and such an active part of your life. They are pretty lucky to have such a lovely daughter, too. Love your blog.
Love it when homes are beautiful, functional and cozy! Happy anniversary to your mom and dad. Your blog is my first “go to” blog every day, and I’ve been reading it for years now. Always love keeping up with your sweet family. Blessings to all!
Rachel’s home is as beautiful as she is inside and out!!!…Great feature today…Have great holiday weekend!

I am fixing to paint the knotty pine panel walls in my house. Any tips? What color did you paint your paneling? Looks amazing!
HI, Erin, if you are asking me, I primed my paneling first and you’ll definitely need to do that on yours with knotty pine. I would suggest BIN shellac to cover the knots and then 2 coats of paint. I used Comfort Gray on my paneling in my old house.
Hi! What color was used in the master bathroom? Thank you!
HI, Leah, that’s a feature I did and you’ll have to go to Rachel’s blog and ask her the question there.
