Feature Friday: So Much Better With Age

Happy Friday!  Today’s my birthday and I’m going to have a fun day celebrating.

I’m back with another inspiring real life Feature Friday!  The Christmas season is right on us, so everyone is getting all decked out for the Holidays, but I do love sharing these home tours with you. This one is as inspiring as any that I’ve shared with you before.  Meet Jamie, from So Much Better With Age. She’s a young wife and mom of 2, who has a passion for decorating and especially loves French styled décor. She and her hubby have transformed their 1980’s palace into a beautiful home for their family and I loved looking at her before and after pics on her home tour.  Truly inspiring, so hop over and take a look at that. You’ll really appreciate the After photos all the more!

foyer

Love the flooring and staircase and how open and airy this all feels.  Not to mention the lighting!

foyer from above

View of the spacious foyer and front doors.

family room

I love these white builtins and fireplace makeover.  Jamie has truly brought this 1980’s home up to date with all her special touches.

family room fireplace

Light and airy, the family room is extra cozy.

stairs after

This step down area got a complete makeover too and used to be small stairs with handrails.  I love how folks really take makeovers and make them personal to their spaces.

dining room painted

She recently painted her dining room in a light gray.

kitchen 2

Their kitchen is also white and light, just the kind of kitchen I enjoy too.

kitchen

Glass front cabinets are so nice.

breakfast eating

The breakfast area off the kitchen.

kitchen office

She even had room to create a beautiful desk area in the kitchen.  Love that!

laundry room

Her laundry room/mudroom space is so organized.

laundry

Love this wall of cabinets and that snazzy laundry set.

master bedroom

The master bedroom is huge and spacious.

master

Room for a cozy chair and ottoman, always a nice touch in a bedroom.

master bath

They had such a large area to work with, they created this stunning master bath suite.  Lovely!

master bath 3

This bath makeover is a good one.

powder room

Another pretty bathroom, this is a small powder bath that also has a tub.  I love this vintage tile!

girl nursery

The baby girls nursery is so cute.

man cave

And they did a fantastic job on their downstairs basement area.  So  light and bright now.  Really, go and look at all the before pics, you will SO love the changes.

outdoors

Outside the basement door is this pretty patio area, with plush seating.

I love what Jamie has done to her home. It’s evident that a hard working DIY couple live here and they are not afraid to get dirty and do lots of work to make their house a home.  I love that DIY spirit!

    Hi Rhoda,

Wow, today is my birthday too! No wonder we’re wired the same “decoratively” speaking. Let’s make it a good one in spite of this bad weather coming through. I’m in the Dallas, TX area and we’re already covered in ice. It’s going to be bad….. I’m hearing tree branches snapping already.

    Happy birthday!
