Hey, friends!
It’s Friday again and I’ve got another fun Feature Friday for you today. Meet Leslie, with My 100 Year Old Home. She’s fairly new to blogging, as well as Instagram and I met her on Instagram recently and at Haven in person (she’s been there the last 2 years), so it was so fun to meet her. She’s a very talented gal and I know you’re going to enjoy her home.
She does indeed live in a 100 year old home in CA (built in 1915) and I just love it! She and her husband bought their dream home from his family 17 years ago and his family bought the house in 1969, so he grew up there and then Leslie’s 3 boys grew up there as well, so it has stayed in the family all these years. I love that story!
Isn’t this just a gorgeous picture of a house , with white exterior and black shutters? Leslie has a really great vintage style, on the farmhouse side and her home just exudes character and charm. Wait until you see the outdoor spaces in the back.
They have remodeled the house 3 times during the 17 years with the kitchen, family room, 2 bathrooms, and the outdoor patio addition. A few years later, more renovations were done, but Leslie says the big renovation projects are completed and she’s happy with how they’ve kept the integrity of the house intact.
She uses lots of creams and whites, a very neutral palette, but you can tell she loves vintage and pieces with history too.
Love those built-ins and those pretty uphostered pieces.
Very sophisticated and charming living area.
The dining room is equally charming and pretty with those silk drapes and neutral shades.
Such a gorgeous table setting too.
Leslie has some great pieces and her home feels very collected, calm and cozy at the same time.
From what I read, they did a kitchen renovation when they first bought the house 17 years ago and wow, did Leslie do a great job with that, keeping it with vintage charm even back then and not going all modern with it.
It looks like a renovation that was just done recently and it still looks gorgeous, so you can see that Leslie made great choices.
She loves Joanna Gaines and Fixer Upper style, so has recently gotten rid of some of her furnishings for a more simple farmhouse look which is still evolving.
This kitchen looks picture perfect to me, with so much charm.
A sink and potting area.
The master bedroom looks so cozy as well with a fireplace.
Very relaxing and calming.
What a great master bath renovation she did. This is absolutely so classic and timeless.
I think that’s what I’m noticing most about Leslie’s house, it feels so classic and timeless and those are words I love to describe decor.
Now, let’s get to the outdoor areas. Leslie outdoor living spaces will blow you away! She has a beautiful covered porch and also a gorgeous backyard and pool.
Leslie loves to do dinner parties and thinks of ways she can create outdoor eating events that will be memorable and beautiful.
This covered porch is so gorgeous, I love all the details.
Look how cute these hanging shelves are in the windows.
And outdoor patio area is equally charming and pretty.
And look at this special eating space Leslie created in her backyard for a dinner party. The guests sat and had dinner as the sun was going down. Southern CA weather would be great for this.
Here’s a peek of the pool and the beautiful backyard. Leslie has quite the house and gardens, doesn’t she? Picture perfect!
And here’s a shot after dark, so pretty with all the lights.
Creating memorable dinners is apparently one of Leslie’s special gifts because she has several of these type events on her blog, like this dinner party using old shades and bulbs. So pretty!
And yet another gorgeous dinner party on the beach. Yeah, they have a beach house too!
I know you enjoyed this tour of Leslie’s beautiful CA home as much as I did. A 100 year old home has such innate charm and character and Leslie has enhanced this home to the fullest. Such a great job on everything. Go on over and check out Leslie’s blog and see more of her home at My 100 Year Old Home.
Lovely home. That kitchen island is gorgeous! I am such a sentimental person and love any story keeping a home in the family! Have a great weekend, Rhoda!!
What a beautiful family home! I love how Leslie has updated the home but kept it timeless and classic as you described. One thing that stole my heart was the swing door between the kitchen and the dining room. My husbands late grandmother had one identical between her kitchen and dining room and I always loved it and it brought back so many wonderful memories of family dinners there.
Holy guacamole, that house is like something from a magazine. I’ve pinned a ton of pics. Thanks for sharing it with us! Seriously beautiful.
This may be my favorite house you have shared! Love, love, love the kitchen and the patio with that wow fireplace!
