Enjoy this repeat Feature Friday from 2016. Note that the Round Top trip I’m referring to was back in 2016 and I’m not heading there now. Enjoy the tour of this pretty home today on Feature Friday!
**************************************************

Today is an exciting day! I leave for Austin, TX and will meet up with a group of ladies for a super fun shopping trip. Something I’ve always dreamed of doing, hitting Round Top, TX and the huge vintage market that is held each spring and fall. We’ve been warned it’s really hot out there. Well, it’s hot here in GA too, so I think I can cope. I’ll wear plenty of cool casual clothes and I know we are going to have a blast. We are staying at Rancho Pillow in the Red House and Lisa, our hostess, has a whole line-up of wonderful things going on, so I can’t wait to share with all of you! When I return next Tuesday evening, I turn around and leave the next day for NYC for another fabulous event, the Better Homes and Gardens Stylemakers event. Talk about an opposite travel schedule, but it’s going to be so fun I couldn’t say no to either of them! I’ll have plenty of things here on the blog scheduled while I’m gone, but in the meantime, if you’re on Instagram or Facebook, you can follow me there and I’ll be posting pics and little videos on Instagram stories the whole weekend, so you can see what’s happening in real time!

I’m back with another great Feature Friday!  The talent in blogland is never ending it seems and I have yet another farmhouse style feature today.  She in fact, lives in what I would call my dream home. Colonial style with Cape Cod features.  I love this charming type house with New England flavor and this style always captures my attention.  Nina Hendrick is very talented and she and her hubby bought their classic beautiful 80’s home in the Boston suburbs in 2012 and have been renovating and making it their own ever since.  She says it’s in an established desirable neighborhood, but the home itself needed to be updated to current times.  They have done that beautifully and have almost completely finished the first floor with more updating to do on the 2nd floor.

The house was yellow when they bought it and extremely dated inside, but wow at the changes that have happened since they moved in and have begun working on the house  This style house makes my heart skip a beat. Charming, nostalgic, and so pretty, these Cape Cod styles are just beautiful to me.

Reminds me of some of my favorite movie houses, with traditional lines, yet charming and classic. Isn’t this a totally welcoming curb appeal?

I love it when there is stone or brick on the front steps.  They chose a pretty light gray for the exterior with black shutters, a winning combo. Go and peek at the Before and After shots, they are pretty amazing!

Inside the foyer, lots of moldings and architectural details have been added with all white trim paint, my favorite.

Just adding all this millwork makes the house so charming and welcoming. They’ve done a lot of adding moldings throughout and it looks fabulous.  I’m not going to do a lot of talking, so enjoy the tour!

Had to chime in on this beautiful enviable pantry! Isn’t this so well organized and pretty? Sigh, in my dreams!

OK, and I absolutely LOVE this powder bath renovation. Check out the ceiling!  Gorgeous, all of it!  I really love how they implemented a tile border with the board and batten treatment.

So, that’s another Feature Friday with Nina Hendrick Design.  I knew you’d love this house as much as I do!  Stop over and say hello, she’s another great blog to follow.

Rhoda, welcome to my beloved Texas! You will have a blast at Round Top and please eat at Royer’s Cafe! It’s a must. The buttermilk and apple pie is too die for. Make sure you make reservations or you won’t get a seat at the table. Enjoy!

Hey, Marsha! I’m so excited. I’ll be with a group of 10, so we are pretty much going to have to stick together and our hostess, has things planned out for us. But she is a pro shopper out there so I know we are in for a treat! I’ve heard about Royer’s, just don’t know if we can make it there.

I love her kitchen! It looks like they probably kept the basic layout. It is classic and beautiful, but not overdone like I see so many times. And that organized pantry is definitely a plus! I have a pantry, but it isn’t that organized! lol

I’m excited for you to get to go to Round Top. I haven’t been in a few years, but it’s fabulous. You’re going to love it. And being from Georgia, you’re going to handle this Texas heat and humidity just fine.

Love those colonial type Homes too and I agree, that pantry is to die for.

    Rhoda,
Have a great time at Round Top. I went several years ago (October show) and I must tell you even though I am from the South, I have never experienced heat like that in my life! Its a different ballgame in Texas as far as heat is concerned. There is no way you can see it all so pace yourself.

P.S. The native Texas women must have a secret because while I was walking around sweating with water running off me, they all looked like they had just stepped out of a beauty salon. Not a drop of sweat, make-up and hair perfect.

Hey, Teresa, you are so right in the heat! It really got to me the first day and I couldn’t take it all day long. Went back to the ranch early that day and even early the next day. The 2nd day was better and today is supposed to be cooler too so that is a good thing!
