Feature Friday: Sara at August Fields

I have stopped by August Fields many times over the past couple of years and have so admired Sara’s new home and the way she has decorated and put it all together.  Her kitchen has been talked about all over blogland and wait until you see the bunkrooms for her boys!  So cute!

Enjoy the tour of Sara’s house and prepare to ooh and ahh like I have done!

First, she is mom to 5 adorable kids.  Aren’t they beautiful?

kitchen

When I first stopped by Sara’s blog, they had just finished their house and the kitchen was all the rage in blogland.  You can see why!  It is a beautiful, yet simple farmhouse design.  I love the colors and feel of the space.

farmhouse sink

Open shelving, white subway tile and a gray paint on the cabinets, make this a very appealing kitchen.

Just lovely!

kitchen island

The island is a wonderful piece too.  It feels calming and earthy a the same time.

drinking fountain

And look what a smart mother Sara is to install a drinking fountain for those 5 youngsters she has.  This would help on clearing the dirty glasses clutter, wouldn’t it?

master bedroom

Her master bedroom is dreamy and beautiful as well.  My friend, Susie Harris, painted the sign for her.  Gorgeous!

Her master bath with all it glorious and beautiful white/gray marble is so pretty.

master bath tub

Who would not want a soaking tub like this one to dream in?

master bath bottles

Sara’s collection of antique bottles are displayed on a shelf above.

schoolroom

She homeschools her kids here in their own little schoolroom.  I love this!

The reading corner.

bunk room

With 3 boys, Sara got really practical and decided to do a bunkroom.  I think this is possibly the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen in a home.

boy bunkroom

Here they are all decked out with striped linens.  The top bunks are accessed by the stairs.  Brilliant!

bunkroom window wall

The other side of the room holds built-in bookcases and a window seat.

craft room

Here’s Sara’s craft room where she sews and crafts beautiful things.

And the nursery with board and batten and a family wall of pics is so very pretty.

I hope you enjoyed seeing Sara’s house as much as I did.  Please go over and say hello, I know she would love to meet you all!

I’m celebrating with some of my extended family this weekend in the Tampa, FL area with a little mini-reunion.  We’re having a fish fry tomorrow and enjoying our time together, so I hope to share some of that with you soon!  There’s nothing like family time! 🙂

How great is it to see a family home that will grow with the kiddoes but still be elegant.

The bunkbeds are gorgeous, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how they change the sheets and make the beds….especially on the top.

Rhoda….we have such good taste in friends don’t we. Hehe. Don’t you just love Sara and her beautful home and family. The first time I landed on her blog I knew I had found a special friend. Maybe we can talk her into coming to Haven 😉

I found her blog at about the same time as you. As she slowly revealed their “forever home,” I fell in love with her decor style and colors. Gray is now lovely. Makes me want to build our next house.
