Pam is another blogger who I’ve met on Instagram and she lives in a charming 1938 cottage home in Denver, CO and blogs at Simple Details. I loved her pictures over there and after checking out her house, wanted to share this quaint house with all of you. Â I dearly love an older home and Pam has made this one special and beautiful with all her decorator touches.
She was featured this past year in Better Homes and Gardens Refresh magazine and these outdoor shots are just magnificent. Â This has me longing for spring again!
Her front entry is so charming and beautiful. Â Love those urns with ferns flanking the door.
And this gorgeous lush green lawn has me drooling too. Â Oh spring, please come back!
Charming old homes just pull me in.
She did a spotted entry wall for some extra detail.
Pam’s style is classic and vintage, mixed with modern and it definitely works in this cottage home.
I spy a pillow fabric that we both have in common, that floral Schumacher.
Love this brass and glass coffee table.
Dining area
The kitchen is beautiful as well, with classic and stylish details.
Loving those 2 fabrics on the barstools. Â Very charming and fun!
I was reading her island is Formica marble, which looks great.
A stenciled wall in the master bedroom is very pretty mixed with the neutral bedding.
That headboard is pretty amazing too!
A lovely room to enjoy.
The bathroom has been transformed a couple of times. Â See which one you like the best. Â Stripes first and I love them.
She also painted the vanity which started out dark.
Next, she decided to go dark and moody and I actually think I like this the best.
It really adds another dimension and doing a dark color in a small space is a great way to cozy it up.
Back outside, what a cute shot of the dog.
This looks really good about now.
I’m drooling over her Craigslist rattan furniture find. Â This is gorgeous!! Â What a great outdoor space for living. Â Thanks Pam, for letting me share Simple Details with my readers. Â Hope you all will go on over and say hi!

Happy New Year from Ontario, Canada! What a visual treat for January 1st! Such a lovely home with real character (love the dark bathroom!) and none of the “usual” decor items that now appear in nearly every decor blog! I don’t know how others feel but many homes are starting to look the same with antlers, signs on the mantel, etc. – I sometimes can’t differentiate one house from the other! Don’t get me wrong …. I also like antlers and other popular knick-knacks but when one sees them too often, I feel it’s time to hunt for other unique items and make your house “yours”. This is why I like your home too, Rhoda; it isn’t a carbon copy but most definitely … yours!! 🙂
Rhoda says
Thanks, Elaine, and I couldn’t agree more about homes starting to look alike. I like individuality too!

I love the way she lets overall simplicity (for example, her black-and-white kitchen) become the backdrop for more dramatic touches (eye-popping chair fabrics and a bright green rug). This balance requires a masterful touch—and she definitely has it!

Used to follow Pam religiously! So sad she hasn’t published in years. Her kitchen alone is droolworthy – she MADE her oven hood! Talent just pours out of every pore!
