Pam is another blogger who I’ve met on Instagram and she lives in a charming 1938 cottage home in Denver, CO and blogs at Simple Details. I loved her pictures over there and after checking out her house, wanted to share this quaint house with all of you.  I dearly love an older home and Pam has made this one special and beautiful with all her decorator touches.

BHG Refresh magazine feature 9 - Simple Details

She was featured this past year in Better Homes and Gardens Refresh magazine and these outdoor shots are just magnificent.  This has me longing for spring again!

BHG Refresh magazine feature 4 - Simple Details

Her front entry is so charming and beautiful.  Love those urns with ferns flanking the door.

spring yard - simple details

And this gorgeous lush green lawn has me drooling too.  Oh spring, please come back!

Simple Details - front patio - BH & G Refresh magazine (1)

Charming old homes just pull me in.

Entry - Fall Home Tour 2015 - Eclectic Modern Fall Style - Cheetah Wall Stencil -

She did a spotted entry wall for some extra detail.

Modern Fall Home Tour - Vintage Campaign Chest - Bamboo Chairs - Bamboo Coffee Table

Pam’s style is classic and vintage, mixed with modern and it definitely works in this cottage home.

Modern Fall Home Tour - Bookcase Styling - Blue and White Pottery

Eclectic Bookcase Styling - Packed with books and blue and white ginger jars - Rustic Column with Vase of Greenery

I spy a pillow fabric that we both have in common, that floral Schumacher.

Fall Home Tour 2015 - Eclectic Gallery Wall - Mix of Styles

Love this brass and glass coffee table.

Late Summer Table - Sunflowers - Tomatoes - Fresh Herbs

kitchen

The kitchen is beautiful as well, with classic and stylish details.

kitchen island

Loving those 2 fabrics on the barstools.  Very charming and fun!

kitchen 2

I was reading her island is Formica marble, which looks great.

bedroom

A stenciled wall in the master bedroom is very pretty mixed with the neutral bedding.

bedroom headboard

That headboard is pretty amazing too!

bedroom details

A lovely room to enjoy.

bathroom 2

The bathroom has been transformed a couple of times.  See which one you like the best.  Stripes first and I love them.

bath vanity

She also painted the vanity which started out dark.

bathroom moody

Next, she decided to go dark and moody and I actually think I like this the best.

bathroom moody2

It really adds another dimension and doing a dark color in a small space is a great way to cozy it up.

BHG Refresh magazine feature 12 - Simple Details

Back outside, what a cute shot of the dog.

BHG Refresh magazine feature 13 - Simple Details

This looks really good about now.

BHG Refresh magazine feature - Simple Details

I’m drooling over her Craigslist rattan furniture find.  This is gorgeous!!  What a great outdoor space for living.  Thanks Pam, for letting me share Simple Details with my readers.  Hope you all will go on over and say hi!

Happy New Year from Ontario, Canada! What a visual treat for January 1st! Such a lovely home with real character (love the dark bathroom!) and none of the “usual” decor items that now appear in nearly every decor blog! I don’t know how others feel but many homes are starting to look the same with antlers, signs on the mantel, etc. – I sometimes can’t differentiate one house from the other! Don’t get me wrong …. I also like antlers and other popular knick-knacks but when one sees them too often, I feel it’s time to hunt for other unique items and make your house “yours”. This is why I like your home too, Rhoda; it isn’t a carbon copy but most definitely … yours!! 🙂

Thanks, Elaine, and I couldn’t agree more about homes starting to look alike. I like individuality too!

I love the way she lets overall simplicity (for example, her black-and-white kitchen) become the backdrop for more dramatic touches (eye-popping chair fabrics and a bright green rug). This balance requires a masterful touch—and she definitely has it!

Used to follow Pam religiously! So sad she hasn’t published in years. Her kitchen alone is droolworthy – she MADE her oven hood! Talent just pours out of every pore!
