Feature Friday: Starfish Cottage Revisited

About 5 years ago on Feature Friday, I introduced you all to Kristy and Starfish Cottage, a beautiful cottage home in Florida.  Well, Kristy is still in Florida, but has moved to another cottage, so we thought another tour was in order.  She’s still got her classic white coastal cottage look and I think you’ll enjoy this one.  It’s a relaxed and casual vibe, perfect for cooling off in the Florida heat.  She doesn’t do much color, but it’s still very restful and peaceful.

Kristy has an Etsy shop and is giving away a pretty starfish necklace, so check her out for that.

Welcoming front door.

Love this black and white wicker patio set up, so relaxing looking.

How about this cute fella or gal?  Doggies make the world a better place.

Her living room is very inviting, even in neutrals. If you like color, you won’t see it in Kristy’s home, but it is still very pretty.

I love how she arranges her coffee table vignettes.

Baskets and pretties dress things up in the china cabinet.

A planked wall holds the TV and a sailfish really adds to the Florida vibe.

Green plants make the room come alive too.

White slip covered chair and open kitchen is so pretty and cottagey.

A traditional dark 4 poster bed in the master is pretty and soothing.

Notice the starfish motif all around the room.

Even around the tub surround.  You know you’re in Florida!

Hope you enjoyed this pretty cottage tour of Starfish Cottage in Florida.  Kristy is very sweet, so stop by and visit her blog!

What a beautiful, tranquil home. I especially love all the glass and the crystal chandelier to add sparkle. And that sweet pup’s face!

I follow Kristy’s blog at Starfish Cottage and I too love her calm monotone vibe but I wanted to point out that seasonally Kristy mixes things up a bit and adds vibrant colors to all the white and cream- just to shake things up a bit. I encourage you and your readers to check out her home’s other looks to get ideas as to how she adds a little spice here and there while still maintaining that comfortable cozy base that feels like home!

This is my dream color scheme. My husband would call it apartment white. He would like to come in and paint everything blue and coral and yellow … and I need a “safe place” room.

Good grief! Even the flowers are white? Come on.

This is a beautiful home! I love the she does have some real spots in her home photos…the stack on magazines on the side table, the photo of the gorgeous little girl…too often you don’t see anything personal or out of place in blog photos….I especially like the tile work around the tub….

Rhoda- thank you so much for featuring Starfish Cottage this week!! I have always loved how you support your fellow bloggers over the years. Tell your readers that though my cottage is mostly neutral, I enjoy adding pops of seasonal colors and accents throughout the year, in fact all next month I will be adding pops of “lovely lavenders and pretty purples” so check back to see how the cottage gets transformed with colorful florals, throw pillows and table linens!

Thanks for introducing her all those years ago. She does change things up a lot for seasons and holidays and her water view is heavenly! You are so kind, Rhoda. I follow several bloggers I met here!
