Feature Friday: The Suburban Bee’s

Today’s Feature Friday is Tricia from The Suburban Bee’s, one of two suburban moms, who live next door to each other, because fast friends bonding over their love of decorating, and who started a blog together.  They are busy moms raising 6 kids between them and they also are passionate about decorating and design.  Today, I’m sharing Tricia’s pretty home, which I think you’ll all love.

One thing that caught my eye in Trica’s house is her use of color.  Yay, she loves color, which is so refreshing these days in the trend of neutrals with white and gray.  I’m a color lover myself and can’t imagine my world with no color, so if you enjoy color too, you’ll find Tricia’s home very refreshing.

I love the exterior and the front door color.

This soothing shade of aqua definitely speaks to my color loving heart. Tricia says this color is Ben Moore Wythe Blue, a very popular color. Love it!

Coming in the foyer.

Tricia has joined in several One Room Challenges and her greatroom is one of the latest room makeovers she has accomplished in this challenge.  If you haven’t seen this fun blog event, it happens twice a year, I think and is sponsored by blogger, Linda of Calling It Home.  She pulls together a whole group of designers and bloggers who then take on the challenge of making over a space in their house.  Then she lets others sign up to join in all the fun as participants in the challenge sharing their spaces every week on their blogs and linking up to a link party so everyone can follow along.  I think it’s a 6 week challenge to finish if I have read correctly.  I’ve never done one of these challenges (I don’t really like that much pressure!), but blogland gets quite enthralled in these challenges to see the final reveals.

I love Tricia’s room and style, looks so pretty with those green velvet sofas she added.

And I absolutely love Tricia’s kitchen with those soaring to the ceiling cabinets.  Wow, what a kitchen!

Dining room

Her master bedroom was another One Room Challenge room makeover, with lots of pops of color.

Check out that stenciled ceiling, which  makes my neck hurt just looking at it.  Kudos to you, Tricia!

Love this dark navy side table.

A refresh of a sitting area with lots of color added. She says these chairs were her grandmother’s.  Love that she reused them and that blue fabric is stunning.  She actually painted those chairs!

Daughter’s room, pretty in pink.

And a boy’s room, looking cute in navy and red.

Another One Room Challenge space was her kid’s bath, which had a colorful green and white wallpaper added.

I love the fun pop of color this paper adds to the space.

Laundry room refresh with pretty Chaing Mai fabric on the window.

Craft room

Kid’s playroom

I just love Tricia’s home and especially all the color she’s added to really personalize and make it beautiful.  Great job, Tricia!  Stop over to The Suburban Bee’s and meet both Tricia and Erin, her blog partner.  Both ladies are very talented.

Love the colors in this house although the green wallpaper is very bright! There is so much white on white these days that it’s refreshing to see a home with color!

Tricia’s home is gorgeous! I’m thinking about painting my kitchen white so all the other colors pop! I do like the soothing calmness of a home without too much color but her use of color is refreshing! The wallpaper in the bathroom would definitely wake you up! She has fun with color and it looks great in her home. I love the color of her front door!

Nice home. Love that Master Bedroom – elegant, yet cozy. The stenciling on the ceiling is a real wow factor. Nice to see the use of houseplants, too. I don’t see that very much on blogs anymore, and they’re so beneficial for air purification. Thanks for sharing!

Can you ask her where she got the small stool (no pun intended) in the bathroom? Eight pictures up from the bottom

HI, Regina, she may not see this, but if you go to her blog, I’m sure she can answer or you can find the post.

I just love all the color in her home!! Especially the daughters room. Even at my age of 55 I still love those colors. I am so sick of seeing neutrals in decor lately I could just vomit. Excuse me but just keeping it real.
