Feature Friday: Adorned Southern Home

Happy Friday friends! I want you to meet Rachel, a new friend on Instagram I found, her name there is Adorned Southern Home. She says she is Southern with a twist and I’m so happy to feature her home tour today. I saw her on Instagram and was immediately drawn to her classic Southern traditional style with vintage charm and beautiful antiques. She lives in Spartanburg, SC and I know you’ll love her home and style as much as I do.

Here’s an intro from Rachel:

I’m a Georgia native but moved to South Carolina when my husband John and I married 25 years ago. We have 3 children. I am a graduate of Converse College where I received my BA in art education. I taught for 3 years but decided to be a stay at home mom when our first child was born. A few years ago, I decided that I needed a creative outlet and started this Instagram home decor account. I have loved decorating since I was a young girl often painting my bedroom, and rearranging any room my mother would allow. Back then, I would scroll through Victoria Magazines for hours. Today I find decorating to be very therapeutic. I would say that my style is classic, but casual from a southern viewpoint. I truly believe that our homes should be comfortable, warm and inviting spaces. I hope that I inspire others to create happy and lovely homes that can be lived in and loved for years to come.
I love the elegant classic brick entry of this Colonial style home.
Brick sidewalks and steps get me every time.
Inside the foyer
Colorful and classic dining room
Family room looks so comfortable.
Living room
Kitchen: I love her wallpaper and the shades of blue and green.
Master bedroom
Guest Room
The sunroom might be my most favorite space. So pretty with all that sunshine coming in.
And last, the outdoor spaces are divine. This covered porch sets the stage.
With a haint blue ceiling and a sleeping dog, nothing better.
Backyard courtyard, so classic and pretty.
And that wraps up the tour of Rachel’s beautiful home. I know you all would love her home as much as I do, so if you’re on Instagram, go over and follow Rachel at Adorned Southern Home.
Have a great weekend!

When I was young and starting my home decorating journey, this is exactly the decorating style of my dreams. But knowing my budget would not allow it at the time, I switched to the more affordable casual farmhouse style of my roots. I still feel most comfortable with that casual style even though my budget has expanded a bit from that small amount from forty years ago. Even so, I still dream the quiet beauty of this fine, collected-over-time, southern home. Absolutely gorgeous!

Hey Barbara, I know what you mean! I love her classic style too, so pretty and a look I’ve always been drawn to. My style is a little more new traditional now and I still gravitate towards that collected Southern style.

Her account is one of my favorites. The home is such a classic beauty and such a contrast to the all white homes of today. I love it!

Absolutely stunning! I love her style and my previous home in the suburbs of NYC had this style. When we sold our home this year we were told “brown” furniture would turn off the millennial generation! We had to stage the house. I am glad to read and see classic style is still alive albeit in the South! Our townhouse in upstate SarAtoga County has a pare downed classic style!

I see the influence of Victoria Magazine. Love this decor, and it has been achieved to perfection. So many designers of this era would be ripping up and tearing out so many of the classic features, but I am glad to see they have remained intact in this home. Thanks for sharing the pics, Rhoda. Beautiful color on this dreary day in Birmingham.

Love this home! So pretty! The sunroom (I’m in love with the fabric on the chairs and drapes) and outdoor spaces, especially the back courtyard with the vine covered fireplace!

I love the look of this house! Such a Southern elegant, yet comfortable look. Such a beautiful home that is such a welcome change from the all white that is so popular today!

Your home is breathtakingly beautiful! How lovely and well-thought out everything detail is! I would’ve loved to have seen more pictures of the bedrooms. For example, how have you styled the dressers and chests? What other accessories are on the other side of the rooms? I’m insatiably curious!

This retired northern gal on the first day of spring 2021 finds this to be the inspiration I needed. Beauty and comfort know no geographical boundaries.

Gorgeous home. So classic. Brick walkways always have my heart as well.
I would love to know the wall color for the beautiful master bedroom. It’s precisely what I’m looking for.
    Thank you for sharing!
