Hey there and happy Friday to you!  OK, so it’s not really Friday yet!  Confession: I’m going out of town today and goofed on publishing my post today instead of tomorrow, so you get Feature Friday a day early this week!

I’m back today with Part 2 of The DIY Playbook duo, and this time I sharing Bridget’s house, a 1950’s brick ranch in the Chicago area.  Bridget and her hubby have worked hard on this house too and it definitely shows.  It’s updated and modern and looks very fresh now!

Again, here’s an introduction to Bridget and Casey’s blog, The DIY Playbook.

Bridget & Casey are the best friends and Chicago gals behind the blog, The DIY Playbook. The two besties walk their readers through the intimidating world of interior design and home improvement, one DIY project at a time. Bridget is currently renovating her suburban ranch with her husband (Matt) and baby (Ben). Casey and her husband (Finn) live in the city of Chicago and have spent the past 3 years renovating every nook and cranny in their Chicago condo.

What a cute 1950’s ranch house. I love to see these houses updated and Bridget has done a wonderful job!

Coming in the door, the dining room is on one side and the living room on the other.

Bridget has a cute baby boy named Ben.  They’ve really renovated this area and it looks nothing like the original.

So bright and airy now.

Bridget has a neutral mix of lots of textures.

There’s Bridget!

Artwork plays a big part in the layering of this room.

Simple and stylish bookshelves.

This mudroom space got a complete overhaul too.

The master bedroom, another light and airy space.

And the nursery, Ben’s cute space. Isn’t this adorable?

It’s very neutral but with blue accents, can grow with him.

Bridget and her baby boy, Ben.

She’s created a warm and special nursery for her baby.

Bookshelves for the baby’s books and toys.

And last but not least, every home needs a beautiful outdoor space and they’ve got that covered too!

A pretty paver patio is the perfect spot to relax and unwind.

Beautiful job on this space as well!

I hope you enjoyed Bridget’s pretty 1950’s ranch home, always inspirational to see these older homes get a facelift and they’ve injected such a fresh spirit into this one.  Thanks as always for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Stop over and visit Bridget and Casey at The DIY Playbook and tell them I sent you!

Eye candy a day early is never a bad thing. Enjoy your travels. What a gorgeous home. I love the simplicity. Yet, it is so warm and inviting. Oh, and a darling baby is just the icing on the cupcake!

I love your “Feature Friday” post so much I wouldn’t mind if you had it every day! Of course, along with Fashion over 50 and Lunch with the parents. Let’s not forget pictures of your lovely home and decor too!
