I’m back today with another new blogger (they are everywhere these days!) and I just discovered Heather with The Heathered Nest not too long ago. She’s only been blogging a little over a year and she and her hubby are DIYers for sure. Â They tackled a 1950’s Cape Cod and then in 2013Â purchased a 1994 brick home in Maryland that was dated at almost 20 years old at the time. Amazing how things change in 20 years! Â But, Heather and her man took it on in fine DIY style and have completely changed so many things in the time they’ve been in the home. Â Oh, and they have 3 kids too and full time jobs, so you know they are busy folks!
This is their current home, the 1994 brick and it’s a beauty! Â Looks very traditional and classic.
This picture absolutely cracked me up, so I had to share it. Â Dave and Heather, hardcore DIYers. Â Love this!
This house has classic bones, but Dave and Heather have completely made it over. I won’t share all the Before pics, but they have plenty over there that are fun to see, so check out her blog for more. Â And Heather is hilariously funny. She has a great writing style wit. Â This is the foyer Before.
And the dramatic After foyer!
Heather added this over the top bubble light fixture which she says is crazy hard to clean but she had to have it. Â I think we have all had those moments.
Pretty table in the foyer.
The living room got faux beams installed and the fireplace was whitewashed from red brick to white.
You’ll notice Heather likes color! Â Check out those floral drapes. So pretty!
The dining room has some pretty colors too. That houndstooth rug is a beauty with those floral drapes.
Heather has great taste.
Fall in the dining room.
The master bedroom is pretty in blues and black and white.
They used a room next to the master to open it up for closet and sitting area.
Beautiful space!
The master bath only got new paint and new fabric drapes added.  She has a whole post on doing this with leftovers and it cost her $0.
She’s done an amazing job on her 3 kids rooms, so enjoy the great ideas she shows.
Lots of color and texture, perfect for growing kids.
Love this girl’s room, so cute and feminine.
A boy’s room with chambray painted walls.
I think she rescued this bed by the side of the road and painted it green. Â Love it in here!
Kid’s bath, lots of great textures in here too.
The downstairs area had lots of changes, beginning with the stairs. Â A beautiful paint treatment was done on those.
They reconfigured some of this area and made a nice hallway.
This bathroom got a very special treatment, with toile wallpaper, sliding vintage door, and marble tile.
Not to mention a planked ceiling out of old barn wood. Â Very innovative space!
Downstairs there is also a guest room which is so cozy.
What a great space for guests. Â Check out that ceiling too, they have worked hard at personalizing this house.
Out back is a nice sized deck. Â Notice the ping pong table. I love that too!
Perfect backyard for entertaining and relaxing.
Notice the genius old cans made into lighting over the ping pong table and hung from the pergola.
I think Heather and Dave have done an outstanding job of making their house a home. It’s a beautiful space, full of color and personality. Â I love to see houses like this! Â Stop on over and visit Heather at The Heathered Nest!Â
WOW, what talent these two have. Thanks for sharing, stole lots of ideas for decorating the new lake house. Loved it all right down to the vintage can lights on the back seating area. Thanks for sharing.
Another great feature! Wow, what a beautiful home. I noticed right away her great use of color, especially in the window treatments. Will definitely check out her blog. Thanks for sharing!
Ohmygoodness, yes! Heather is truly amazing. She’s always making me feel like a failure, but in an inspiring way!
Wow, that entryway is jaw-dropping! Love the before/after of that space. Also, she has the best taste in layering (those rugs!!). Great feature.
SUCH an amazing house!!! She’s got such a talent and eye for mixing rustic, modern, and traditional all together and making it look so beautiful.
One of our favorites—loved the whole tour! Thanks for sharing 🙂 Have a great weekend!
