Feature Friday: The Tale of an Ugly House

Today’s Feature Friday is another new to me blogger, Amanda from The Tale of an Ugly House. Turns out she is not that far from me here in North Atlanta and has been blogging for a little over 2 years.  There are so many creative and talented bloggers out there now, I literally can’t keep up with all of them, but it’s fun to discover new talent along the way.  She and her hubby bought a major fixer upper brick Colonial a couple years ago and you really have to go and see the Before pics to appreciate the Afters.  So, go on and click over to see that and then come back.

OK, now we’re ready to take the tour. They’ve been working diligently and have tackled many spaces in their home and it really looks great.

Exterior brick entryway. I love a brick house, so stately.

They’ve really fixed up the inside so much and it shows in every area.  Entryway and stairway.

Amanda has a casual and relaxed sort of farmhouse style, which is so trendy in blogland for the last few years.

Gray painted fireplace and a living room that looks very comfortable.

I love this pretty little reading nook.

Built-ins with wallpaper behind, great focal point.

They saved their original cabinets by painting and making over the kitchen to fit their needs and it’s a great transformation.

They recently got a new sink and butcher block countertops from Ikea.

I love the open shelves and those schoolhouse pendants.

A peek in the breakfast area with table and focal wall.  She’s recently made some changes in here too, as you can see below.

They added board and batten and two white shelves holding a copper pot collection. It looks so warm with the copper pieces.

I’m such a lover of lanterns like this and it’s a beauty.

The dining room has a country farmhouse feel and very relaxed and casual.

The master bedroom also in neutrals.

And their son’s room in red, white and blue.

Isn’t this is cute kid’s space?

They recently built a loft bed in his space and it’s totally adorable.

I think this bath is from their previous home, but I loved the plank walls added and the casual feel of it.

What a wonderful innovation they’ve made to their house, I hope you enjoyed this tour from Amanda and go on over and take a look at her blog. She’s got lots of inspiration over there!

Rhoda, I’m not sure if this is just my computer but the last few times I’ve visited this site all of the content is squeezed all the way to the left side of the page. All the rest of the page is blank. This only happens when I visit your site. Have you had any other complaints or is it something at my end?

Hey, Carol, this has been happening for a few months to those who run ad blockers. Did you just start running an ad blocker? If it’s disabled,it should go back to normal. I have an ad plugin that some people are not compatible with. If you change browsers that may help too.

Love your blog and hearing about all the fabulous projects. You are very talented
How do I get rid of the ads? Annoying!
    Thanks
    Leila

HI, Leila, are you experiencing pop up ads? I’m not supposed to have pop up ads so they shouldn’t be intrusive.
