Sometimes a blogger’s home comes along that just makes me drool and get a little bit jealous…today is one of those days and if the blogger wasn’t so fun, witty, and darling, I might just dislike her a tiny bit too. But Kari, of Thistlewood Farm, is so adorably cute and funny that you can’t help but love her. If you haven’t seen her beautiful Kentucky farmhouse yet, you’re in for a big treat today.
I actually met Kari and her sister back when I first started blogging (online, that is). They are very creative and we all started blogging about the same time. Kari started her new blog last year and it was a delight to meet her at Haven this year.
Not only is the house beautiful, historic and stately, Kari is a wonderful vintage decorator. A collector of old things and beautiful stuff and she knows how to put it all together in a completely pleasing way.
Her beautiful farmhouse, named Thistlewood Farm. Kari and her family had dreamed of moving from the hustle and bustle of city life to a peaceful house in the country and this 1918 beauty caught their eye. Yes, I can see why, can’t you?! They have been here for 4 years and it was completely renovated from top to bottom, including a new roof.
Wait til you see inside!
Kari has a wonderful eye for design and has made this house so special and beautiful. The living room/family room is so cozy and comfortable.
Those toile drapes are beautiful and Kari collects signs and vintage items to display.
Gorgeous!
The kitchen, oh the kitchen is magnificent. Big, beautiful and spaciously perfect.
This huge buffet is on one wall displaying her beautiful ironstone. That is stunning!
The dining room is equally gorgeous and spacious. Kari knows her way around decorating, doesn’t she? This is such a pretty house.
Smocked burlap drapes, be still my heart.
Another beautifully displayed buffet cabinet that I’m sure she painted this luscious shade of gray.
A butler’s pantry, who gets to have a butler’s pantry? Kari does and it is unreal!
Family room is comfy and all the fabrics are beautiful.
Her daughter’s room is colorful and playful.
Another complete renovation job, you should see the before pics of this guest bath. What a beauty now!
Who wouldn’t want to perch in this guestroom for a few days? OK, Kari I’m coming for a visit!
Guests wouldn’t want to leave here.
The master bedroom is equally gorgeous. Kari, girl you have a wonderful eye.
The house is big enough for a playroom for her 4 kiddos.
And an art house out back. How fun is that?
Don’t even get me started on Kari’s porch. Wow, oh wow, is this beautiful. I wouldn’t get anything done with this outside.
So, that’s a wonderful tour of Kari at Thistlewood Farm’s beautiful historic home. I know you enjoyed seeing these rooms as much as I did. Hop over and say hello to Kari, she is a doll and would love to meet you!
NOTE: On my Feature Friday series, please pin images from the original source and not from my blog! Thank you!
