A few months ago, I introduced you to Amy from Playing Sublimely, in a Feature Friday, when I showed off her house and all the renovations she and her hubby have been working on. Amy is very talented with decorating and recently did an update in her son’s room and it is just the cutest. She used blues, browns and reds with a white bedspread and it all looks so pretty and just right for a little dude.
Can you guess what really caught my eye? See the lattice pattern on the walls. Yep, it’s a stencil!
Love this shot of the dogs and the striped curtains.
Amy did the lattice stencil all around the room and wow, does it bring a lot of life to the room.
I think I must have one of these stencils. Amy gave tips on how to use a stencil to get good results. You can see the reveal post here and the stencil post here. I’m loving the stencil and have seen several inspiring spaces done with stencils recently.
I’d love to try this somewhere! Would you?
this actually works and looks really good. i dont think my son would complain.
Beautiful, very masculine…a room easy to grow in.
Very, very cute. I would add only a few script A’s and a Big Al poster if I were doing this for my son when he was a kid. I agree, this room will suite a little boy for a long time. The dogs are great.
This looks great! I am not a fan of “the stencil” as it used to be used around the top of a room in a very country-ish fashion but I really LOVE this! What nice work she did.
Oh I love this! I would love to do a stencil on the wall behind my bed in our master bedroom. I think that would be such a fun way to highlight a wall! I can’t even begin to imagine the patience it takes to get through a project like this, though!! Lots of talent- great job, Amy and thanks for sharing, Rhoda!

I absolutely love it all. The colors, the dog pillows, the stencils, the framed letters, the curtains. Now I’m tempted to go crazy in my boys room (even though we’re renting)!!
Isn’t Amy just wonderful? Such a darling girl, so talented, so dedicated to the Lord and her family. The kind of girl you would feature! I know she’s been thrilled to be in the spotlight here–who wouldn’t be?
Hope you and Layla have a wonderfully successful sale tomorrow! Love ya!

PS Wishing you a magnificently successful yard sale with Layla, give that girl a hug from me! And then make her give you a hug from me. Make sense ? Have fun!!!
Wow, it looks good, but no way would I stencil an entire room like that, way too tedious for me!
What a wonderful room for a boy ( or anyone). Just love the colors. Love the fact that the bed is painted red. Everything about it is a dream.
I hate stencils with a passion…but I would try this in an instant! Absolutely amazing. I’d love to leave some space on either side (more like rows than a continuing pattern) in black and white in an office. Looks fantastic!
I have to wonder if she has a ‘super child.’ No offspring of mine would have ever kept a room so neat and clean – no matter how much I begged. :0) I do love the stenciling
Don’t know how long a white comforter would last in my sons room but I love the way the stenciling picks up the color in the solid wall. The dog silhouettes are great. Love the dog silhouette shams. My son would love this room.
