While we were in Abbeville, SC last month, we got a special treat from one of Buck’s dear friends, Linda Tyner. Â Linda and her husband own a Bed and Breakfast, Veranda on Main, and it’s also their primary residence. Â We were truly treated with real Southern Hospitality when Linda invited us to her B&B for dinner before we went to the play that Friday night. Â It was such fun to see Linda’s beautiful home and to experience dinner here. Â If you’re interested in a trip to Abbeville, definitely check out Veranda on Main for a wonderful Southern experience.
This big stately house right on Main Street in Abbeville looks like it could be a historical home built in the 1800’s, but it’s really only a few years old. Â They built it with historical features and architecture, with its big front porches and columns across the front.Â
I took lots of pics to share with all of you.
The limelight hydrangeas were in full bloom and just gorgeous.
Rocking chairs on the front porch welcome visitors to sit a spell.
I couldn’t get enough of the limelights.
Inside, we met Linda and were greeted with this beautiful table.
I couldn’t help but take pics of all the decor, since it’s so pretty and Southern.
Beautifully decorated with dark wood furniture and oriental rugs.
This was such a beautifully set table too.
The front living room, where guests can sit and relax.
So pretty!
Linda was such a welcoming and sweet lady and we were honored to be invited to dinner with her.
The table was set in such an elegant way with fresh Limelight hydrangeas on the table.
Looking back towards the front door.
Don’t you love the silk drapes?
I set my camera on the timer so that we could all get in the picture. Â What a special treat it was! Linda is on the far side, the brunette.
We were served a delicious dinner of shrimp and grits, such a Southern dish.
Dessert was pumpkin roll and grape salad, so yummy.
Linda’s sweet doggie and I don’t remember his name now, but he was a doll.
The family room in the back of the house off the kitchen is so pretty.
Out back, there’s a beautiful covered porch with seating area. Â That’s the neighbor pool next door.
Wicker sofa and chairs on the porch are ready for sitting.
The kitchen, elegant and pretty.
Another shot of the family room. Â Their private quarters are at the back of the house.
Can you spot the doggie on the sofa?
We took a tour of the rooms upstairs that are for guests and this big front porch across the front of the house is amazing.
The view from here is stunning.
Jana and Karen decided to sit for a minute and rock.
Linda showed us all the guest rooms that they rent out in the B&B. Â This one has twin beds.
Pretty in aqua and brown.
Another bedroom in blues and yellows.
A red room.
And this one in black and white with green walls is so cute.
There’s nothing better than staying in a Bed and Breakfast and I’ve had the pleasure of doing that several times over the years. Â Linda and her husband have a nice thing going and I know it would be fun to stay there if you’re going to Abbeville. Â Thank you, Linda, for showing us such wonderful hospitality in Abbeville. Â Everyone we met was so nice and welcoming, Abbeville is a sweet Southern town!
Boy this place was as clean as can be…..beautiful photos….and loved the brown walls with the white white trim, very crisp and lovely to look at…….thanks for the tour.
So beautiful!
Just beautiful!!
Absolutely stunning home/b&b tour!! I love the built-in unit in the lounge, especially the concealed tv behind the doors above, also the stencilled wardrobe, and the yellow/blue bedroom . I must look up ‘grits’, I have seen them mentioned before but have no idea of what they are. You do get to visit some wonderful places don’t you. I always come away from your blog with new ideas!
