Instagram has introduced me to so many new home bloggers and Kristy at Wicks Nest is one of them. Her beautiful home near San Francisco has gathered many followers on her Instagram account and you’ll see why when you see her house. It’s very white, but also injected with lots of color and interesting things. Kristy’s only been blogging a year, but I can see she fits right in blogland with her beautiful style.
Her home exterior is very European in style and very Californian too. Love all those flowers outside. They live in a beautiful area of Northern California.
Front door welcome.
Walking in the foyer, you can see the white walls and trim are everywhere, accented by beautiful hardwood floors. But, this home is not sterile at all with color all around.
Open floor plan.
Of course, this vintage green chair caught my eye. They had a cute little pup that they lost recently to cancer, so you’ll see his pics all around Kristy’s blog. His name is Calvin and I know they miss him very much.
Gathering area and a family sign on the wall.
A view of the keeping room from the kitchen.
Lots of pretty colorful pillows on the white sofas, along with a striped rug. What a happy space this is!
Love all the fresh flowers.
Kristy has a great eye and mixes things well.
Beautiful white kitchen looking towards the dining room.
Kitchen stools.
Another view of the kitchen cabinets.
The dining room with a graphic black and white rug is very striking.
More pretty colors in here.
She has some pretty colorful artwork all around.
The master bedroom is soothing in a beautiful toile fabric.
The master bath has shades of sand and sea.
Spacious his and her’s vanities.
Kristy has a lot of extra details around the house.
Another beautiful bedroom.
Bathroom and sitting area.
Another peek at the cute pup in a guest room, I’m guessing.
Beautiful sofa and ottomans with some very pretty pillows.
OK, so the outdoor areas are just breath-taking. They don’t have to take vacations with a backyard like this.
That is one beautiful pool!
Fire feature, lots of entertaining areas and lounging space in this backyard space.
What a beautiful outdoor space complete with so many colorful fabrics. Those lights are so fun too.
So much attention to detail at Kristy’s beautiful Wicks Nest home. Hope you enjoyed this California home tour! Have a great weekend!
beautiful home
Oh my, that’s beautiful. It’s the first white-walled house that appeals to me. Nicely layered with bright and happy colors. I love that it’s void of chevron and not a single statue with an eyepatch.
You took the words right out of my mouth! I am NOT a fan of all white, but the colors Kristy chose are spot on! All in all a most welcoming home. And the backyard is to die for!
Sorry Rhoda, I don’t know how my short message got combined with an incoming message from a nearby neighborhood.
Thanks, Edith, I edited it for you!
Rhoda–
Love your blog and decided it is past time to let you know! You are so talented, creative, and a great fashion mentor for ladies of any age. Love the variety of your posts–always something exciting and inspiring.
Not sure if you remember me, but I am Penny’s cousin–we truly think of ourselves as sisters, very close without the fighting :). She keeps me up to date on all your family and I love hearing the latest on your parents. How about that Troy-Bilt!! Uncle Leon would be tickled pink for him.
Keep it up, lady, you are the best!
Mary Ann
Hi, Mary Ann, thank you so much! I appreciate it and yes I do remember your name along the way with Penny’s family. So glad she introduced you to my blog and that you are enjoying it!
Yes, I found Kristy’s blog about a month ago. Her home is gorgeous!! And, she is just a sweet heart. Great feature Rhoda.
Really stunning colors and so cheerful – yet not overworked. Thanks for these pics.
now that is a beautiful space and home !!
What a beautiful home! I love the bright colors. I live in California too, but in the hotter Central Valley near Fresno. In the SF Bay Area they can have so many nice outdoor plants because it doesn’t get that hot. Our summers hit 105 and everything burns up. 🙁 Plus, we are in a drought right now.
It’s also crazy expensive up there….think NYC prices. A starter home is 600-800k.
LOVE the bright colors through out… beautiful.
Oh what a beautiful home…luv the inside…but the outside is sooo inviting!! I am a big fan of white…so I like that this home is full of it.
Blessings,
Linda
Oh my goodness Rhoda!!!
You made my home look and sound so special!
I’ve not had a chance to look until just now and all I can say is… Wow! The work you put into this is amazing!
Thank you so much for this gorgeous walk through of our very loved and always filled with family home. We are so happy living here and my family is forever patient with me moving everything around every other day. 😉
Hugs and thanks so much again for this special highlight… I’m truly honored. xoxo
Wow . Absolutely beautiful. I just loved all the color! Love that outdoor area with pool too.
Kristy’s home is beautiful inside and out!!
Amazingly gorgeous but that cotton wreath behind the gas range is DANGEROUS! Hope it was just a prop for a photo shoot and it has been removed!
