Instagram has introduced me to so many new home bloggers and Kristy at Wicks Nest is one of them.  Her beautiful home near San Francisco has gathered many followers on her Instagram account and you’ll see why when you see her house.  It’s very white, but also injected with lots of color and interesting things.  Kristy’s only been blogging a year, but I can see she fits right in blogland with her beautiful style.

Her home exterior is very European in style and very Californian too.  Love all those flowers outside.  They live in a beautiful area of Northern California.

wicksnest door

Front door welcome.

wicksnest foyer

Walking in the foyer, you can see the white walls and trim are everywhere, accented by beautiful hardwood floors.  But, this home is not sterile at all with color all around.

wicksnest front door entry

Open floor plan.

wicksnest stairs

Of course, this vintage green chair caught my eye.  They had a cute little pup that they lost recently to cancer, so you’ll see his pics all around Kristy’s blog. His name is Calvin and I know they miss him very much.

wicks nest family

Gathering area and a family sign on the wall.

A view of the keeping room from the kitchen.

wicksnest family room

Lots of pretty colorful pillows on the white sofas, along with a striped rug. What a happy space this is!

wicksnest fireplace

Love all the fresh flowers.

wicksnest breakfast

Kristy has a great eye and mixes things well.

wicksnest kitchen to breakfast

Beautiful white kitchen looking towards the dining room.

wicksnest dining

The dining room with a graphic black and white rug is very striking.

Kristy has a lot of extra details around the house.

Another beautiful bedroom.

wicks nest bathroom 2

Bathroom and sitting area.

wicks nest bedroom

Another peek at the cute pup in a guest room, I’m guessing.

wicks nest blue room

Beautiful sofa and ottomans with some very pretty pillows.

wicks nest exterior

OK, so the outdoor areas are just breath-taking.  They don’t have to take vacations with a backyard like this.

wicks nest pool

That is one beautiful pool!

wicks nest outdoor 2

Fire feature, lots of entertaining areas and lounging space in this backyard space.

wicks nest outdoor entertaining

What a beautiful outdoor space complete with so many colorful fabrics. Those lights are so fun too.

So much attention to detail at Kristy’s beautiful Wicks Nest home. Hope you enjoyed this California home tour!  Have a great weekend!

Oh my, that’s beautiful. It’s the first white-walled house that appeals to me. Nicely layered with bright and happy colors. I love that it’s void of chevron and not a single statue with an eyepatch.

You took the words right out of my mouth! I am NOT a fan of all white, but the colors Kristy chose are spot on! All in all a most welcoming home. And the backyard is to die for!

Sorry Rhoda, I don’t know how my short message got combined with an incoming message from a nearby neighborhood.

    Rhoda–

Love your blog and decided it is past time to let you know! You are so talented, creative, and a great fashion mentor for ladies of any age. Love the variety of your posts–always something exciting and inspiring.

Not sure if you remember me, but I am Penny’s cousin–we truly think of ourselves as sisters, very close without the fighting :). She keeps me up to date on all your family and I love hearing the latest on your parents. How about that Troy-Bilt!! Uncle Leon would be tickled pink for him.

Keep it up, lady, you are the best!

What a beautiful home! I love the bright colors. I live in California too, but in the hotter Central Valley near Fresno. In the SF Bay Area they can have so many nice outdoor plants because it doesn’t get that hot. Our summers hit 105 and everything burns up. 🙁 Plus, we are in a drought right now.

It’s also crazy expensive up there….think NYC prices. A starter home is 600-800k.

Amazingly gorgeous but that cotton wreath behind the gas range is DANGEROUS! Hope it was just a prop for a photo shoot and it has been removed!
