Our front porch sets the tone for Christmas and when guests come to the door, of course I want it to feel festive and Christmas-y! Adding a few holiday touches to the front porch is something I enjoy doing every year to welcome our friends and family in the front door. They know that Christmas has arrived!
Today, I’m joining a great group of gals for front porch Christmas ideas, so I hope you’ll go and visit them all below too. Every day is a different area of the house shared with Christmas decor. Today is front porch day!
I’ll be getting a fresh wreath from Lynch Creek Farms again this year, but it hasn’t arrived in time for my tour, so I’m adding one I already had along with a cute Christmas tree greeting. I’ll also be having a giveaway for a fresh wreath for one of you so stay tuned for that soon!
I stick to a traditional color palette on my front porch. Red and green are the traditional colors of Christmas and I think it looks so festive to have those punches of color out on the porch.
I add garland on the railing along with pretty red bows. I love the different textures in this faux garland that I got several years ago from Tree Classics.
This beautiful berry colored ribbon really adds a punch on the garlands.
Even though I have varying shades of red on the porch, they all seem to work together to create a pretty backdrop for the front door.
I added more of the garland around my front door and this year added hanging glass balls out there to add more color and texture. These are so pretty and I love the added color and sparkle they add. The Merry & Bright rug is an At Home find a couple years ago.
The Christmas tree sign on the wreath is also from At Home. That’s Mark’s childhood sled and some thriftstore ice skates I found to add to the winter ambience. I love how they look out here.
These giant plastic balls are so cute too with a little gold sparkle. I’ve had that Christmas spirit sign for years and decided to use it out here this year.
This tree is from Ballard Designs and I’ve had it forever too. It makes a pretty statement all lit up at night out here. I may add some ornaments later, but for now I love the simplicity.
The green and red felt pompom garland and faux pinecones are also from At Home a couple years ago.
The wreath I’ve had forever and it’s a simple yet natural one that I love.
Adding bows outside along with hanging ornaments really ups the sparkle.
Adding a bow on the sled is pretty too.
I’ve managed to keep these real topiaries alive for over a year, so let’s see how long they last. I sure have enjoyed them!
I hope you’ll stop by and visit Rebecca at A Blissful Nest, she’s next on the tour and I know you’ll love her porch ideas too. It’s so fun to see how everyone decorates their porches, big or small. Mine’s not huge but I love taking it up a notch during the holidays. Merry Christmas to you all! Enjoy the tours! Time to get our Merry and Bright on for the season!
