How’s your first week of the new year? I’ve been slaving away taking down my Christmas and I finally got that finished and the house cleaned up. Now I need to figure out what to put up since all the Christmas cheer is gone and things look so dismal. This in between time before spring is hard to decorate for, but I like to keep some cozy going around here.

Instagram Inspiration

Here’s a beautiful shot for the New Year. This blue and white twin bedroom by Heather Chadduck (one of my fave designers) is gorgeous!

House of Hargrove built a new house and just moved in recently. It’s absolutely gorgeous, so go back and look at her feed for more.

Here’s a shot of the outside of the house, it’s so pretty!

Recipes

I did try this tortellini soup from Hungry Happens over the holidays and it was delicious. My family loved it and so did Mark. I didn’t put quite enough broth the first time and the tortellini swelled up and soaked up most of it, but it was still really good. Mark actually likes soup that’s not so soupy so he was a fan. I made it twice and both times it was so tasty. I used spinach instead of kale in mine.

I love Greek food, so I’m going to try this Greek Orzo salad from DeLallo Foods. Looks like something I would love!

Around the House

I just got these faux boxwood topiaries (affiliate link) for Christmas and I’m going to put them in my black urns, so I’ll show you as soon as I get these done. I got tired of replacing the real plants out here so this should work well. I think for the money, these are very realistic, these are the Medium size. Renee and Lauren got them for me for Christmas. I worked on getting all my Christmas put away this week and I’m tired!

If you need some green in your life, these faux stems are also very nice and realistic. This is from my sister’s house and I shared them before, but I got some for myself and will be getting them out soon for spring. After Christmas is such a dismal time and we need some green to get us inspired for spring. It can’t come soon enough for me!

This is such a cute side table and so affordable. It comes in bronze, gold and silver. I don’t have a place for it, but you might!

What We’re Watching

We watched the new documentary this week about Bernie Madoff’s story on Netflix. What a horrible thing and he sure did ruin so many lives. So sad!

did the Madoff documentary give a perspective on the crypto scheme we are witnessing? I just hope and pray for some relief from the crime wave we are experiencing.

I don’t remember talk of crypto on there, so maybe this all happened before crypto got so big. I’ll be honest, I know nothing about crypto at all, but things are really shaky it seems on every front.

thanks.i just cannot imagine being so greedy and wiping folks out in such a deliberate fashion. an investment that just does not pan out is one thing but shuffling peoples lives around is so deplorable.

Brendalynne, it really is despicable. He knew what he was doing.

This had so many good ideas! I’m going to make that soup and I’ve been looking for something to put in my urns post-Christmas!
    Thanks, Rhoda!
