What gets you inspired when you want to start redecorating a room in your house? I’m sure magazines and blogs play a big part in that process, right? I’m right there with you and when I see a beautifully decorated room that draws me in, that inspires me to create that same feeling in my own house.
How about simple and beautiful objects, the beach, the mountains, or even a favorite piece of clothing? Anything can be inspiration for a room!
One of the furniture companies that I’ve shopped at over the years is Havertys. In fact, my sleighbed that I still own in my master bedroom came from Havertys years ago and I still love it. Havertys is also having a fun contest and they are giving away $1,000 shopping spree to a fan.
Here’s how to play! Go over to Havertys Facebook page and load an inspiration pic of your own that would set the mood for you in decorating a room. It can be anything from a vacation pic, to a pretty piece of pottery or even something in your closet. Then, visit http://www.havertys.com/ and choose your fave room setting or product piece and leave a link to that product in your comment on the Facebook page, along with uploading a pic of your inspiration. That’s it!
Don’t forget to leaved the link to your favorite room at Haverty’s.
What inspires you?
I love the beach and that inspires me more than anything. Blue sky, sand beaches and turquoise water, I love all those shades together. This pic of the beach reminds me why I love visiting the Gulf coast so much.
And this pic from the Havertys website reminds me of a beachy bedroom.
Someone will win this contest and I’d love for one of you to be the lucky winner. It’s easy to do and will just take a minute and a very happy person will win a $1000 shopping spree to Havertys.
Now that would be fun!

Good luck, would love to see one of my readers win this contest!

I am unsubscribing because I am fed up with the constant sponsored posts you feature. It is a waste of my time to read them.
Rhoda says
Hi, Kathleen, I’m sorry to hear that. I try to only do sponsored posts once a week or so, but sometimes I need to do more. It’s part of doing business as a blogger and you don’t have to read the posts that don’t interest you. I post a lot of other good stuff too, so you can easily ignore what you don’t want to read.
Janice Careins says
Hey Rhoda, Thanks for having sponsored post I have done and visited websites I would not have visited other wise. Thanks I just love your blog.
Erin Hernandez (RomeGirl) says
Hi Friend!
Thanks for all the great content and ideas you have provided for us over the years before the days of sponsored posts and especially now! You have always been generous with your time and creativity and I appreciate it! Glad you are now able to make your blog work for you! You’ve earned it!
Rhoda says
Erin, thank you! So fun to have you stop by, we go WAY back!
Leen says
I am a beach lover too, Rhoda! I love the comfortable feeling of a beach inspired home.
Thanks for letting me know about this fun contest! I don’t think you do too many sponsored posts. I like hearing about new products, giveaways etc. I will feel free to only read the ones that interest me.
You are an inspiration, my friend! You blog is always full of positivity and great ideas. A few thoughtful sponsored posts are a very small price to pay especially knowing your integrity, when you say you like a product I know you mean it.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Rhoda says
Thank you, Leen! 😉
Becky in 'Bama says
Well, Rhoda I’d have to give you an A+ in diplomacy. Just this morning, a co-worker and I were discussing the stress of having one’s job performance/skills assessed in a negative way. Wow, didn’t expect to find an example here. God bless. 🙂
Ralinn says
Thank you for all of your posts. I enjoy seeing what you are up to next.
Tami says
Rhoda, I LOVE your blog and enjoy seeing your beautiful house and love, love, love hearing about your family. But lately (with other blogs, too) it just seems to be too much about the sponsored posts. IDK…maybe I just have blog overload. I certainly will NOT unsubscribe. I realize this is a business for your and I wish you the best. But I will probably just skip over any future posts about sponsored products.
Jane says
I’m in total agreement with Kathleen! You seem to be a sweet person and I loved watching you beautifully decorate your “new” old home. However, you’re posting so many sponsor-related posts these days that it seems you’re just looking for free stuff.
Rosie from Raymore says
Rhoda, there’s always a few negatives. My wise mother-in-law used to crack me up when she’d say, “It’s a good thing all women don’t like the same thing, or we’d all be married to the same man!” I’ve loved you and your blog for years. Get on with the show!
Mary says
I truly feel sorry for the “Kathleen & Jane’s” of this world. I can only imagine the amount of hours you devote to this blog and I can’t imagine that anyone would work so hard w/o compensation. I have never seen a sponsored post that was unrelated to what you blog about.
I start every day with a cup of coffee and the first thing I go to on the computer is your blog and then the news. I have been a fan of yours for years and your blog content has inspired me and I have found sponsored posts very helpful. I doubt I would have tried frog tape and now I don’t use anything else.
I enjoy yours posts about family, food and decorating and I would LOVE to win a thousand dollars of furniture from Haverty’s!!
Your a gracious woman and your response to Kathleen is just another example of what a kind, Christian person you are.
Keep up the good work Rhoda, the masses not the minority, appreciate you and all you do.
Rhoda says
Mary, thank you SO much, I loved waking up and reading this today!
Marc Jones says
The reality of doing a blog is that it is time consuming and in Rhoda’s case a full time job. Just like your favorite television shows, you need sponsors to pay for this endeavor. Of course, none of us love the sponsor spots as much as we love the pictures and decorating that Rhoda showcases but luckily there is plenty of that on her blog. No one can work for free and sponsors are essential to keep the blog running.
Good job Rhoda!!!!!!
Kristy says
Well said Marc! Keep up the great work Rhoda!!
Mary says
I was so distracted by the remarks of a few that I forgot to tell you I love your new header!
Pam R says
I, too, was distracted and annoyed by all the adds, in particular, ones from Zappos. I think they showed up because I recently was shopping on their website. I noticed that there was an X in the corner of the ads and I clicked on it. I was then given the option to opt out of their ads on your blog and I took it. Now they’re gone. I don’t mind your sponsor ads, Rhoda, but those animated ads from other sites are way too annoying on something like a blog.
May God continue to bless you and your inspiring blog.
Rhoda says
Hi, Pam, I am not supposed to have popup ads like that and I’ve seen a few too. Trying to get to the bottom of it, I don’t like them either!
Gina says
Rhoda,
I love your wonderful blog. Like I’ve heard before pick a job you love and it won’t be a job. I feel decorating is your love and we reap the benefits of it. Unfortunately just having readers will not pay your bills, and therefore I completely understand why you have to have sponsers. Keep up the beautiful work and thanks for being an awesome blogger!!
Marsha Anderson Corns says
Would love to win the Haverty’s contest to help furnish our home!
Suzanne says
Would love to win – my furniture is so outdated and I would like to freshen up my house.
Sherry @ No Minimalist Here says
Hi Rhoda, Thanks for sharing the info on this wonderful giveaway! I know blogging is your source of income and I know how much work you put into it. I have no problem with the sponsored post and I always appreciate you offering giveaways. Thank you!
