Giveaway #4: Artist: Connie Snipes Painting Giveaway

{Giveaway is Closed}

Can I just say how much I admire artists. Those who can pick up a paint brush, touch it to paper or canvas, and come up with a beautiful flourish of pretty strokes!   I do not have that ability and when I see someone who has a talent for painting, I really admire that.

Connie Snipes, from Charlotte, NC, has been painting a long time.  In fact, in my emails with her, I found out she used to teach at the Walker School here in Marietta and is now retired.  I went to the Walker School way back when it was Sprayberry High School, so it is indeed a small, small world.

Connie paints every day, painting plein air (meaning outside) or in her studio using photographs. She majored in art and studied at The Art Student’s League in NYC, Rhode Island School of Design in Rome, courses at different universities during the summer, and numerous workshops since she has been retired.

Connie has a pretty blog showcasing her paintings at Connie Snipes.  You can see all her lovely smaller sized paintings, of places she has been and paintings that bring back those memories.  From the coast, to the mountains and country, there is a little something for everyone in Connie’s paintings.

She also has her paintings in an online gallery, Daily Paintworks, and you can see more of Connie’s work.  I adore original artwork and own a few pieces myself that I’ve been fortunate to find or have given to me.  Those are pieces that I will  never get rid of.  It doesn’t matter if they came from an estate sale, yardsale or thriftstore, I will treasure those originals.

So, original artwork is not just for the wealthy.  You can afford these originals!

Connie is offering up to one of my readers ONE of her original oil paintings and the winner can choose from one of these 3.  They are all around 8 x 11 in size.

The Garden Shed

Wing Haven Garden

Noda Garden Shed, Charlotte

Connie let me choose a painting for hosting the giveway and here’s the one I got and it is so pretty. I can’t wait to find the right frame for it.

Twisted Tree Garden Tour, New Orleans.

I love it!

To win one of Connie’s 3 paintings above, click over to Connie Snipes and tell me your favorite painting that she has listed on her site.

Do you love original artwork?

I think you will see that Connie’s work is affordable and definitely beautiful!

Leave a comment and I’ll choose a random winner in a few days.

I love her painting called “November” that is on her site. She does beautiful work! I have been trying to buy small originals whenever I take a trip as a reminder. This would look great in my newly painted home!

Oh me, please! I thought her art was pretty and then I realized she is painting in my backyard ( almost literally!) We live in a neighborhood across the street from the Reedy (creek) park that she painted. So because of that, I liked Fallen Tree in Reedy Park.

As beautiful as the three garden scenes are, I find myself wanting to take a peak inside the windows of each.

Summer Tree is one of my favorites. I love trees in any season: spring, summer, fall and winter. Connie has some wonderful paintings, especially the small town vignettes.

Being friends since childhood, I’m prejudiced when it comes to Connie’s artwork. She’s terrific. Of the giveaways, how to choose?? I really like Wing Haven Garden should I be so fortunate! Thanks for the opportunity to win. . .

Hi Rhoda, I love The Creek at Willow Wisp Farm. Then again, there aren’t any paintings on her site that I don’t love. Thanks for introducing Connie’s gorgeous work to me. I see a piece or two in my future! 🙂
