Green and Red: Christmas Sparkle in the Kitchen

It’s a vignette party!

According to the dictionary.com, this is one of the meanings for vignette and the one that we decorators tend to use.

vi·gnette

[vin-yet]

4. any small, pleasing picture or view.
I love that!  Who doesn’t like small, pleasing views.  I do, that’s for sure!

And oh, how I love my lime green and red in the kitchen. It just feels so fun to me to get out those colors again this year and spread some cheer all over my kitchen.  Can you tell my fave color is green?  In case there was any doubt, I love green.

And green and red at Christmas is just the best, don’t you think?  Lime green and red is extra special and against my pretty lime walls, all my Christmas in the kitchen looks pretty festive if I do say so myself.

kitchen at Christmas

Did I mention how much I LOVE my kitchen?!  Oh my word, do I!  It’s the best and I adore it.  Getting to add Christmas to it this year is really fun.  Opening those bins was like Christmas a.m. all over again. Getting these pretty things out again makes me so happy.

red and green on the island

This little tabletop kitchen tree has served me well for several years and I have so enjoyed its cuteness.  Alongside the whimsical Christmas platter and cake plate that I found in the after Christmas sales a few years ago, it’s a burst of color and fun in here.

Better Not Pout

My cute little bunny head that I got locally here in Atlanta years ago at House Parts is a fun addition between the windows.  I rigged up the Better Not Pout sign to look like he’s holding it around his neck.  Too cute, it is!

shelves at Christmas

I added a few things to my rustic shelves for Christmas and those shelves are not easy to photograph, but I sure do love them.

Christmas hearts

These pretty Christmas hearts were an after Christmas sale one year.

cloche with vintage ornaments

This pretty metal cloche is a new addition this year from Wayfair, one of the online stores I’m working with.  They have some wonderful tabletop ideas for the home and this cloche is one of them.  I opted to place my vintage Shiny Brites that I grew up with in here.  Those things make me smile, with their sparkle and shine. Santa shakers and a pretty green napkin holder are another way to spread my red and green palette around the room.

cake plate and platter

Once again, I drug out my Christmas mugs and they will be ready for something hot when guests drop by. Coffee or hot chocolate would taste mighty good in these.

little red and green tree

Love, love that little happy tree.

red tree topper

Love putting some sprays in the top of the tree.

strawberry on tree

These fun little ornaments are so cute and happy.

Christmas Spirit

Another after Christmas sale, the Christmas Spirit sign works above the fridge in here.

tiny wreath

And I added a cute little berry wreath on one knob.

Over the sink, these cute pieces of skinny Santas and Santa candlesticks make me happy when I see them in the mornings.

window sill

Santa candlesticks from a friend have been with me for a long, long time and I love these faux paperwhites in berries.

night shot kitchen tree

A couple of night shots, just because it’s so pretty.

glowing Christmas tree

Lights at light are so magical and sparkly, aren’t they?

Christmas mugs

I’m ready for Christmas and plan to enjoy the rest of season taking it all in.

No pouting

And don’t forget…you better not pout!

From my kitchen to yours, Merry Christmas to you and yours!  Are you all decorated too and ready for the season?   Enjoy it all, it will be gone before we can blink.

Today’s the Holiday Vignette party and I’m hosting, so be sure and link up your post too if you have something to share.  It’s fun to see all the links and check out what everyone else is up to.

By the way I live in Canada, so it would be a long way to come for coffee:) But I would love to visit with you.

I love your Christmas decorations…especially the cloche. I have been wanting one for a long time, but I have not felt like I had the extra money, so I may have to be more diligent in looking for a sale. I have noticed that while Christmas has gotten harder for me to celebrate, I still love the decoations and dressing up my home for it. I just need to get better organized with a budget so I an enjoy it and not stress about it.

    Thank you for sharing, Rhoda!!

Love your kitchen! It’s beautiful and also love your Christmas decorations. Your idea of inviting your single friends to a party is awesome. Lots of people don’t realize that when you aren’t part of a couple are excluded from a lot of gatherings. I’m sure it will be fun. So happy for you and your new beginning!
