Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Thrifty Treasures

Hi, friends!

Hope you are all enjoying this kick-off to summer Memorial Day weekend.  I’m not doing a lot, no travel for me this weekend, but a little chilling by my friend, Debbie’s pool, enjoying the sunshine.

Even though many may be traveling this weekend, we’ll do another party, so share your finds.

Last week’s party had some memorable finds that I want to highlight!

Art is Beauty

A free, but broken armoire turned into a potting shed that Art is Beauty so cleverly crafted with found treasures.  This is an adorable place to store garden supplies now!

Bungalow

Debbie from Bungalow found this beautiful horses head at a local thriftstore for $14, not bad at all for such a pretty piece.

Coastal Charm

Linda at Coastal Charm has a gorgeous collection of ironstone, which we all love, don’t we? I know I can’t wait to get my pieces out of their boxes.

French Country Cottage

French Country Cottage added blingy found vintage chandeliers over her dining table and wow, is this pretty!  Check out her house pics, the girl has some major talent in renovating a house.

kelly vintage trophys

Kelly gets the prize this week for her buy it all at one time trophy collection she scored from another blogger.  Beautiful pieces!

my passion for decor

A Craigslist (love it!) dresser gets a pretty makeover from My Passion for Décor.  What a stunner now!

Tatter and Fray

A pretty in blue and white Chinese garden stool found by  Tatter and Fray was a nice score from thrifting.

The frugal homemaker

The Frugal Homemaker gives us all a lesson in waiting, something that is hard to do at times.  Waiting for her thrifted serving stand, as well as the plates to go inside, gave her a crazy cost of $3.50 for her pieces.  Yeah, waiting is good sometimes!

The weekend homemaker

More found pretties from The Weekend Homemaker, this pair of Craigslist chairs will be fun when she is finished with them.  Go over and take a look at all the chairs she has featured and how to make old chairs look so much more current with paint and upholstery.  Can’t wait to see these all done up!

Plum Doodles

Sheila from Plum Doodles scored this original landscape watercolor painting at a thriftstore for $7.98.  My kind of bargain!  I love finding original art out there floating around.  She painted the frame and it looks very pretty.

So, what did YOU find this week?

There are a TON of parties out there to highlight all your projects, so please let’s keep this one about thrifty finds that were bought 2nd hand! Not a great sale from the store, or a recipe, or just a plain project, but 2nd Hand finds only!

And please DO NOT go back in your archives to OLD posts and link up. Let’s keep this party fresh and current! If you have already shared your find in a previous party, DON’T share it again! Please, girls, I don’t want to have to delete links.

  1. Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time! :)
  2. Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
  3. Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines. If I see that your post is not really on track with this theme AND you don’t link back, I’ll delete your link. Sorry, but I’d like to keep the party consistent! IF YOU SEE THAT YOUR LINK HAS BEEN DELETED, IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN LINE WITH THIS PARTY THEME.

Again this year, I’ll be highlighting great finds from the party, so if you want your find highlighted, PLEASE link back to the party. Only those who link back will be considered for highlighting the next week. Thanks!

Sounds like you’re having a holiday that’s just my speed … and a pool would come in handy right about now. We’re melting here in Chicago today.

And love the features — especially Kelly’s trophy scores!

    🙂

Okay…..I fell in love with my thrift store find. She was staring at me surrounded by a bunch of old Christmas decorations. I knew she was calling my name. For me to save her and paint her white and add corbels to the botton and tiny shelves on the side.

And then enter her into a beauty pageant 🙂

    Happy Memorial Day!

    blessings,

    Hi Rhoda,

Thanks so much for hosting this! I love thrifty transformations and am looking forward to seeing all the wonderful finds from other bloggers. I already messed up my link by listing my name rather the project name. I’m still a newbie when it comes to blogging. Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
