You are all in for a treat!  Get comfortable, with a nice mug of something good to drink and sit back and enjoy the show.

First, I’d like to introduce you to Sheron, our gracious homeowner.  She is the sweetest lady and made us all feel at home in her house, a totally delightful hostess. IMG_7369

We’ll start outside the front door, where this HUGE urn greets guests coming inside the stately iron double doors.  This pic doesn’t do this justice, it’s probably 10 feet tall.IMG_7370

On the other side of the door, this life-size Santa is waiting to say hello too.  Isn’t he adorable? IMG_7372

This is my friend, Cindi, who I already introduced you to and I’ll be showing you her space on a later post.  She does magnificent work and we have had a lot of fun getting to know each other through this project. IMG_7368

Stepping into the foyer, this huge mirror is all decked out for Christmas.IMG_7358

This huge foyer tree is also the first thing you see coming in the door. It sits in a little alcove at the bottom of the foyer stairs.IMG_7359

And this lovely topper caps it off beautifully.IMG_7491

Looking back toward the front door.IMG_7367

These angels are so pretty too, sitting on the grand piano.   So, click on the button, to continue the tour.  I took WAY too many pics, but couldn’t stop myself, so I hope y’all won’t be too tired of Christmas by the time these are all posted. 🙂

IMG_7487

The greatroom is a magnificent space, overlooking the lake.

IMG_7492

You can see that EXTRA large scale Christmas is needed here.IMG_7439

And this whole table is very large scale.  The fresh flowers came from a well-known floral designer, Dorothy McDaniels and looked and smelled SO good.IMG_7437

And I adored this huge metal tree with fleur de lis topper holding mercury glass ornaments that Sheron found at Atlanta Market. IMG_7275

In the greatroom, this beautiful tree is in front of the huge bank of windows.  The sun was coming in very brightly that day, so it was hard getting great pics in every space.   This tree was done by a local shop that I enjoy, English Ivy.  They do beautiful work and have some beautiful Christmas decor.IMG_7273

Closeup of that tree.  I always enjoy browsing in this shop.

IMG_7438

This pic doesn’t do these cherubs justice, but there are a pair here on the large coffee tables with a pretty green swag running between them. IMG_7277

The greatroom mantel, all decked out. Next, we’ll move on into the kitchen.  Wait til you see the eye candy in here!  This was probably one of my favorite spaces in the house.  IMG_7301

A Santa tree sits by the backdoor.IMG_7302

The colors in here that the homeowner did were lime green and red.  Sound familiar?  These huge swags are over one of the counter areas. IMG_7303

A pretty arrangement hanging on the wall.IMG_7304

And yet another, all still in the kitchen.  This is one big kitchen.IMG_7306

Two life-size nutcrackers guard the back door.IMG_7307

More swags and ribbons, love these huge ornaments.IMG_7308

Here you can see the pair of nutcrackers.

IMG_7312

The breakfast table was all decorated for Christmas.  You ladies who love tablescapes will enjoy these pics.IMG_7311

Greenery and berries are festooned over the large light fixture above the table.IMG_7313

Looking towards the large bar expanse, she has all sorts of candy jars displayed.   The colors explode.IMG_7314

The kitchen fireplace is also prettily arrayed.

IMG_7414

I loved all these hanging ornaments.IMG_7415

And this cute lime and red stocking.IMG_7315

We had a candy tree party and made these trees.  I totally forgot to take my camera that day, but if you’d like instructions on how to mix up the “snow”, I’ll pass it on to y’all.  It was a mixture of egg whites and confectioners sugar, sort of like divinity.  Spread on a styrofoam cone and then the candy was added one at a time.  They were fun to make, because a lot of candy was bought for the project.  These were on sale in the gift shop, in 3 sizes.  They are adorable!IMG_7316

I loved how she layered this pretty jar with all this colorful candy too.IMG_7317

Can you say, a feast for the eyes?IMG_7418

This jar held some peppermint candy ornaments with a string of lights tucked inside.  Isn’t that a great idea?IMG_7419

So much to look at!IMG_7421

More colorful candy, are you getting some ideas?IMG_7352

These pretty pieces were on another counter in the kitchen.  Yes, it’s a HUGE kitchen. IMG_7353

And the finale for today, this pretty birthday cake display for a December birthday party.  This is SO cute, one of the girls made this out of styrofoam and candy.  Totally adorable!

So, that’s it for now! There is still a LOT more to come, so again, I hope you don’t get bored, but with all this eye candy, how could you? 🙂 I’ve got a whole post of just tablescapes coming up too, so those of you who enjoy that are going to love it.

Thanks for posting on the weekends, I do so enjoy getting to
read new things on the weekends. Even though I walked through
this house, I love the pics. It was so beautiful it was overwhelming
and it’s nice to look at each vinette individually and to see
things I missed. Like the garland on the stairs and not on the railing!

I got in just fine Rhoda. Holiday House: Part II is not what is showing on my blog roll. Malinda’s Family Room is the last post you have on my blog roll.

Beautiful decor for the Holiday open house!

Wow! First off what a beautiful house.
Since the house is big, you have more to decorate,
which is so fun! I was not bored at all with the
pictures! There is so much to see. What an
excellent job! Thank you for posting the pictures!
I am so looking forward to seeing more pictures.

So glad you posted this tonight Rhoda, as my blogroll is quiet and I really got to enjoy these pictures. I can see why large impactful pieces were needed to decorate ~ this house is quite large and makes an impact all on its own! I love the life-size Santa at the front door ~ the packages he’s holding are a nice touch. Also love the life-sized nutcrackers in the kitchen. So many decorations, but I can see the beauty underneath of how the house must look everyday. I must admit that it did go through my mind ~ I’d hate to be the one that has to pack all that stuff up after Christmas!

    Mrs. Rhoda,

You left a comment on Rachel’s blog and so I clicked on your profile! What is so funny about Rachel is that we have never met. I have followed her blog from the beginning and haven’t met her! My mom, though has run into her a couple of times! But, not me! 🙁

I usally see you when we go to our small group but we haven’t been in a while! I also see you when you walk sometimes!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Visit anytime!
