The Christmas season is in full swing. My spirit has definitely been dampened by the death of my mother, but we will go forward and celebrate this season as best we can. Thank you all for the outpouring of love and tenderness in your notes to me this week. They do not go unnoticed and are deeply appreciated. So many people loved her too and she touched more people than she will ever know.
Please enjoy these shares today as we move ever closer to Christmas, from the Old Georgia Governor’s mansion tour, to rum cake, holiday metallics, how to dry oranges, and finally budget friendly holiday ideas.

So Sorry to learn of your mom’s passing. I know that casts a shadow over
your holiday plans. Thanks for posting the pictures so we could know her
a little also. I pray the Holy Spirit will soothe your heart, give you joy for
the good memories, and hope for a brighter tomorrow,

I’m deeply moved by your reflections on celebrating Christmas amidst the profound loss of your mother. The strength and grace you’re showing in facing this season, while honoring her memory, is truly inspiring. Your mother’s impact on those around her, as you’ve described, is a beautiful testament to the life she led and the love she shared.
In times of loss, we’re reminded of the importance of the spaces we hold dear – our homes, and the memories they contain. They become not just physical structures but repositories of the love and warmth we’ve shared with those no longer with us. In this context, I’m reminded of the significance of creating secure, comforting spaces, such as those offered by Gates Perth. Just as we cherish and protect the memories of our loved ones, we also seek to create safe and nurturing environments where new memories can be made and cherished.
Your courage to move forward and celebrate the holiday season, keeping your mother’s spirit alive in your heart, is a powerful message of resilience and love. May this Christmas bring you moments of peace, reflection, and joy amidst the sorrow.
