About 10 years ago, I discovered House Parts & have been a regular ever since. It’s in downtown Atlanta in a not-so-nice part of town, in a weathered old brick building with a lot of character. You have no idea when you walk in there that you’re about to find so many treasures. I checked their website & they have been in business since 1979, offering historical, antique, & architectural reproductions of plaster, cast resin, concrete, fiberglass & high-density foam products. They also carry lots of drapery hardware. Many high-end stores in Atlanta carry their products. You’ll also see some of their things sometimes in TJ Maxx or Homegoods. Someone told me how neat this place was years ago & once I went there, I was hooked! I think you can order from them without having a business license, but I’ve only shopped by going in person & checking out the clearance room…it’s open to the public. The clearance room is a room where all the rejects & not-perfect items end up for sale at a really discounted price. That’s my kind of room & that’s where I’ve bought all the stuff that’s ended up in my house. Most of it can be salvaged or repaired or painted & is perfectly fine. If you are in Atlanta & get the chance, visit House Parts! You’ll love it!

I was facinated by all the neat things they carry from day one.
You can get very large items or very small items. There’s something for everyone! See the lady statue in the middle? I have that one on my foyer table.

I walked around my house & took some shots of all the House Parts things I have in my house…it’s a lot! I’m sure there’s more, but this is just a quick look at them.
Drapery brackets & finials in my breakfast area. I painted these all to match. Check out my shop for a pair of these brackets!
Concrete little boy reading statue in a guestbath. I think for all of these statues I paid less than $10 each.
Plaster bunny in guestroom. 
Another little boy reading statue in guestroom. This one is cast resin, I think. His head was broken off (clean break) & I glued it back on.
Plaster Lady statue. This had some damage around the bottom & I repaired it with plaster of Paris.
Another plaster lady sits on my foyer table.
Cast resin bunny has a broken tail, which you can’t see since he sits in the corner.
A huge plaster finial that was white when I bought it. I remember this piece was $15 & it is about 3′ tall. I took it home & painted it & still love it.
This is a lightweight foam piece that looks just like concrete. I painted & glazed it & it fits over my tapestry perfectly. I think this piece was about $15 to $20 & had some very minor damage.
Plaque in the DR was $5.00. I think this one is resin. I was told their resin stuff is now imported from China, but it is still very heavy & well made. They do plaster, concrete, & heavy foam in house still. 
Well I’ll definitely have to make a trip there! Looks like a fabulous place!

House Parts…looks like a great place to visit…I’ll put it on my list for when I make it to Atlanta…actually my hubbin is doing some consulting work at the Atlanta airport…I think he’s due for a trip soon…hmmmm…this may be a business trip I NEED to go on…
Also…with the statue of the lady…you said she had a damaged bottom and you were able to fix it with some plaster…Do you think the same will work for my damaged bottom…??? Just askin’…I might have been outside in a hail storm and picked up just a couple of dings and dents…so I was curious…lol

It’s a great recipe. I often make it like you did for the birthday party. I’d put my nuts on mine too if the rest of the family would eat it. Sounds like you had a great time at the birtday party. My grandmother turned 80, six years ago and my aunt threw a huge party for her. It was a great time. House Parts looks like a great place to visit. Wish I lived closer. Though there is an “old South” trip in the makings for next year though. Might have to put that on the “to visit” list. Take care.
