Intel Core i5 Processor Review & Giveaway

BlogHer Reviewer

This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Intel.

All of us who blog know that blogging can take up a lot of time. There’s writing posts, taking pics, editing pics, getting everything loaded and ready to post. Whewwww! It can be a lot of work and take up a lot of precious time that could be spent more productively.

Since my blog is SO much about decorating and making a home pretty, I do take a lot of pics and have enjoyed honing my photography skills so much since I began this blogging journey. Editing photos is probably one of the most time-consuming things about blogging, but I love doing that extra step to make sure my pics are blog-worthy and the pics fit my blog size-wise. All of that takes some time.

Having a computer that can keep up with all my blog multi-tasking is SO important! I spend a lot of time in my little office nook and love having this space to work in. And having a great computer just helps me tremendously in keeping up with all that goes along with this blogging thing!

I was recently blessed  (jumping up and down!!) with a new laptop, thanks to my association with BlogHer. A beautiful new laptop was sent to me to keep and try out for myself and I can tell you that it’s really making my life easier already. Earlier this year, my old computer crashed. I had relied on a desktop set-up for several years and all of a sudden, it died! I purchased a small netbook and that is what has kept me going this year, but I really felt I needed something more powerful for every day use. My little netbook will now be my backup and travel computer.

This new computer is powered by the Intel® Core™ i5 processor with Turbo Boost Tchnology, which allows me to get more done in less time and an Intel Wireless Display(aka WiDi) adaptor allowing me to use my HDTV as a monitor. How cool is that?

This little Netgear gadget is what allows me to see my computer monitor ON my HDTV! What will they think of next? Just by plugging this in and downloading the software, I can do this:

My TV becomes the computer monitor. Now, this is probably not a feature that I’ll be using every day, but I can think of a few ways to utilize this one. Watching a DVD from my laptop on the HDTV without having a DVD player, looking at photos online and seeing them really big, or doing a presentation of some sort without having to have extra equipment. Pretty cool, huh?

This new laptop with the Core i5 Intel processor is super-fast and is definitely keeping up with all the tasks I need to get accomplished everyday. My snazzy new laptop is so fast and I can see multi-tasking will not be a problem with this baby!

Here is some more info on the Intel Core processor family.  Visit Intel for more information:

  • Smarter processors that deliver extra performance whenever you need it, and increased energy efficiency when you don’t.
  • Features 4-way (and 8-way) multi-task processing that allows each core of your processor to work on two tasks at the same time— that’s Intel® Hyper-Threading

Why wait? Now you can start doing. Get a smart Intel® processor inside in your next PC.

Intel® Hyper-Threading would be my fav feature because I am always running multiple programs at the same time and it bogs down my PC!

I like the hyperthreading feature, since my wife likes to have several windows open at the same time.
