Interview at Houzz

What we didn’t buy at the Longest Yardsale! Aren’t these just about the most hideous lamps you’ve ever seen??  The lady at the booth said these had been photographed all day long.  I can see why, they are completely over the top ugly. 🙂

Hello, all!!  Oh my goodness, did we girls ever have fun at the Longest Yardsale yesterday and I’ll have LOTS to share on that later tomorrow for the Thrifty Monday party.  But, in the meantime, please pop over to Houzz and check out the interview they did on me, along with lots of house pics (most you have already seen, but there are a few new ones).

I’m SO honored to be chosen for their feature on different bloggers and their homes. And if you leave a comment over there, you’re eligible for a fun giveaway of a neat item that I especially picked from Hudson Goods.  So cute!

See you tomorrow!  I didn’t find a thing at the BIG sale, but Layla and Susie did and they will both be reporting in too from our fun weekend.  I’ll show you their finds tomorrow, but I did find a really fun treasure at a new flea market that just opened up near my house.  Susie and I popped in there this a.m. before she had to head back home and I came home with a vintage somethin-somethin that I just love.  Come back tomorrow for the whole story! 🙂

Don’t forget if you haven’t already to sign up for the pillow giveaway in the post below!  It’s open until Sunday at 2:00 pm Central time.

Hi Rhoda…what fun you had at the sales…it’s always nice to walk away with arms loaded down, but even if you don’t buy anything, the hunt is always fun, and to spend the day with friends and family is what it’s all about, anyway! Thanks for sharing…you always have a great post! Happy week-end!

lol! before I read any of this post I looked at that picture and said exactly what you did, “those lamps are hideous!” They must have been designed as a joke to sell in one of those gag gift stores.

Well, if nothing else they could be put in a garden to scare away whatever critters and, if you could figure out extension cords, you could have outdoor lighting too!

I cracked up laughing at those lamps … because, yes they are hideous and because I saw one just like it at Salvation Army this week! Small world … and scary, too since these lamps are apparently multiplying around the country!

Wish I could have gone to the yardsale. I did go to a little estate sale down the street though. Found a couple things. Tried to comment on the interview, but wasn’t able to sign in. When I thought, oh well, maybe I forgot my password, they said they couldn’t find anyone with that registered e-mail address. So I tried to sign up, and they told me there is already someone with my e-mail address. Yeah…me. so, its a viscious cycle.

    Hi Rhoda,

How fun to go to the longest yard sale!! Yes, those owl lamps are terrible, But I’ve heard that “owls” are making a come back!!! You might have just passed up a gold mine lol…..a little white spray paint and a cute lampshade might have given them an entirely different look!

I have always heard about the longest yard sale…and I even saw a piece on a news show at one time. I would love to be able to go to that one year. I am sorry that you did not find anything, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

I really enjoy reading your blog and I have learned so many helpful tips.
