It’s been such a joy to me in blogland for the past 7 years, watching my blog friends grow and seeing their success along with my own. Most of us who started blogging way back then are still going strong and still love this thing called blogging. It certainly has changed my life in so many profound ways and I’m still grateful every single day that I get to spend time with women all over the country, because of this blog. One of my long time friends in blogging, is Myquillyn Smith, also known as The Nester. She dubbed herself that early on, as she was fearful of sharing her real (unusual) name with the world wide web.
Her blog, the Nesting Place, encourages women to create a beautiful home without worrying about perfection. Who has time for that? Myquillyn put herself out there, sharing her window mistreatments, her hot glued pillows, letting women know that they could do things in their home all by themselves, using the budgets they had and that yes, indeed, it could be beautiful. Beauty is the in eye of the beholder and it definitely doesn’t have to have an expensive price tag.

The online world we live in can really suck the joy out of our own homes. Now that we can actually see millions of homes across the world just by clicking around the web, all of those perfect images can make us feel inadequate and our homes unworthy. But, we all know that isn’t real life. We all have to embrace our own homes and find the beauty in everything we surround ourselves with.
I’ve really enjoyed reading Nester’s words and thoughts in this book. She is helping to free women from the notion that everything in their homes have to be perfect to make them happy. How often does that happen? Maybe never? We all have imperfect homes and works in progress and to be content to make the most of what we have is the message in her book. I loved it and I think you will too.
Myquillyn and her publisher are giving away 3 books to my readers and I’m so happy to share this giveaway with you all!Â
Just leave a comment telling me what room in your house is the most imperfect and how would this book help you with the process of making that room a contented space?Â

Our girl’s playroom. They are older and now it needs to serve their ‘older’ needs 🙂 thank you for the opportunity!
Chaotic best describes my imperfect art studio but the all creativity comes out of chaos!
I would like my guest room to be a nice refuge for guests.
I live AND work in my 1,000 SF home. My bedrooms are dark, so am forced to have my home office in my living room. It’s not a home office as typically shown on most blogs or websites, with a pretty little “desk” at which one could sit briefly and write notes, or look something up on a laptop….it’s a full-blown, full-time office, with a desktop computer, printers, job files, etc. It is an ongoing challenge to try to make it look beautiful and maintain some level of productivity in my profession. I would love a constant reminder that beautiful doesn’t have to be perfect!
I have a bedroom that has me completely stumped! I’d love any/all help, advice, assistance…
Our livingroom, the most important room to me, is a hodgepodge.
My living room is BORING! I need some inspiriation.
Yes! I think an eclectic house is an interesting house! Would love this book!
This is awesome I would love to read this book–I just bought my first home a fixer upper and believe me I do not have a perfect house I have painted now new siding trim iron gate and new porch light going up still need carpet and wood floors refinished new light in bathroom done but nothing is perfect and I don’t want it to be I like it imperfect but this book would be very helpful for me
thank you for the giveaway
I’d work on my kitchen! But, I am blessed to have a wonderful home and never want to complain about what doesn’t work. Blogs are so great for inspiration. Contentment is something I truly want to always have/seek. 🙂 thanks for your great blog!!!
I have two actually, my formal dining which I am trying desperately to make “not so formal” but more fun bright contemporary and my Master bedroom which is getting there but still needs something. Maybe I can get some inspiration from this book, if I were to win!
My master bedroom needs a facelift really bad. I need some inspiration to help me accomplish the facelift.
My living room is the most imperfect! Ugh!
Where to start? I think the room that needs the most work right now is sort of an office and music room. It definitely needs help.
My sewing room is an unorganized mess. Ikea will open soon in my city and I plan on buying shelves and storage units for my fabric stash and inventory.
My bedroom is the next project, or the bonus room. I would love to get my house feeling like a home again. This book would be a great help. Thanks for the giveaway. Congrats to her on the new book. Good luck everyone.
I would have to say my master bedroom. It always gets shuffled to the bottom of the list. I think I am already getting to the point where I am more satisfied with most of it but would still love to find some pretty accents. 🙂
Our whole basement needs a revamp.
Upstairs bonus room…just my husband and I we rarely go up there but the grandbabies love it…all that is there is two recliners and a tv…kinda stuck as to how to decorate it…it is most imperfect.
I would have to say our master bedroom. We have been married almost 33 years and never bought bedroom furniture! We still have hand-me-downs and I think it would be so nice to update that room a bit!
