We set sail with Princess cruises on the Sky Princess this month to the Caribbean with 10 couples total from our church and we had a great time. We left from Port Canaveral Florida. I would say that I enjoy cruising more than Mark does, but he’s a sport and goes along. This is our second cruise with our church friends and it’s a great way to travel. It’s nice to have other people on board that you know and we enjoyed hanging out together, eating dinner together in a designated room, playing cards, and going to the evening shows. I’ll share all the things we did on this cruise, as well as impressions of the Princess ship.

The Sky Princess holds over 3500 passengers and over 1300 crew members. It’s a pretty ship, but I didn’t think it was as elegant as some of the other ships we’ve been on. This particular ship didn’t have a big lounging space with big windows on the front of the ship like others we’ve cruised on, but it was very nice.

We enjoyed nightly sunsets from our restaurant windows.

They had one formal night on the ship, but only a few people dressed up formal. I like to dress up a bit for dinner, but not everyone does that. I usually take a few dresses for dinner and casual for daytime.

We were color coordinated most nights. Mark still hates to get his picture taken, so I’m always dragging him to a spot to pose.

He’s a pretty good sport about it and that means we have lots of great pictures from all our travels.

Here’s a sampling of some of our meals. I enjoyed every one of them!

And desserts! There were a lot of unique desserts that we enjoyed.

One more sunset!

We had 3 stops on this cruise, the first one in Freeport, Bahamas. I’ve been there before although it’s been many years, but it’s not known as a great stop. Since it was raining, we didn’t even get off the ship there. Our next stop was Grand Turk in Turks and Caicos islands and it was a beautiful day so we got off with our friends and walked around the shops next to the pier. Some of our folks took excursions on this 6 mile long island, but we decided not to do that.

The beaches were well used that day as it was in the high 70’s and very comfortable.

The water was gorgeous!

Lots of beach spots near the pier and ships.

Of course, to get a cabana or lounge chairs, there was a charge. We didn’t stay out too long, but walked around and headed back to the ship for lunch.

Those hammocks looked inviting.

It’s also known as a splash down spot with NASA and John Glenn.

Cute spot for photos.

Our friends, Debbie and Craig. We all rode down together and have a great time.

And a good view of our ship on the left, with a Carnival ship on the right.

Mark and Craig with John Glenn.

Margaritaville on Grand Turk.

Another view of the ship.

Back on board, I found good lounging spots outside by the pool a few days and we all hung out there, reading, talking and eating ice cream. This is my friend, Eva. Our Sunday School class has a range of ages from the 50’s to the 80’s and they are all great people.

Here are most of our group, minus a couple of people. We enjoyed being together!

Time for another dinner.

After dinner, we headed to the 7 pm nightly shows in the theater. This guy, Dan, was an impressive Elvis performer and we really enjoyed him.

We saw equally impressive acrobats, Duo Delight from Ukraine and they were outstanding.

The executive chef did a presentation one morning in the theater and it was interesting.

Dinner time again!

I like for us to blend in our clothing, so it usually works out and the pics look great.

Last stop was Nassau, Bahamas and if you’ve been there, you know it’s nothing special. If you go once, that’s all you need to go. I’ve been a few times to Nassau, but it’s been years.

Their tree was still up and pretty.

We walked to the fort up on a hill from the ship and that was a nice walk.

We also visited the Queen’s Stairs, a famous landmark.

Lots of people there that day with several ships docked.

I don’t remember seeing these before in my travels there.

History of the Queen’s Staircase.

The Governor’s house, very impressive.

Walking downtown.

And ending by the Straw Market. Can you believe we didn’t go in?!

Colorful shops.

Enjoying another swirl ice cream.

Saying goodbye to Nassau. This is a private island owned by Royal Caribbean.

Goodbye to Princess cruises! We did enjoy our cruise a lot and I’d love to do another Princess. It’s fun to try out different ships and see which ones are a better fit. I loved Celebrity and Princess as well as NCL. I’m definitely a cruise person and would like to do more. One of our couple friends from church are hitting 100 lifetime cruises, but I’m sure we will never reach that many, but I’d definitely do more! I hope you enjoyed this peek at Sky Princess!

Loved the photography. Great post!
Great pictures of you and your husband. Very beautiful cruise. I’m glad you had a great time. I really like your dresses too. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed your cruise pictures, Rhoda! Such nice pictures of you and Mark, too! I think that Mark will eventually enjoy cruises! He just has to go on more cruises with you! Glad that you had a nice time. We plan on doing a Viking River Cruise next year. I bet your precious little Daisy was waiting at the door for you when you came home! Have a great week, Rhoda, and thanks for sharing your cruise with us.
Hi, Mary-Ann, She was definitely happy to see us. Mark was spoiled by our first ever Viking River cruise, so all other cruises pale in comparison to that. That’s the problem! But we can’t do those all the time.
Looks like you had a fabulous time! Your photos are great! We just returned from a two week cruise on Viking Mars Ocean to Panama Canal and Central America. It was wonderful and we love Viking. We celebrated New Year’s Eve and our 49th anniversary on board and were upgraded to a two room suite. Luxury! How nice that you traveled with friends – we met a couple in the airport that live in the same community as we do…a neighborhood away. So we got to meet new friends and will continue the friendship now that we are home. Best wishes for a great 2026!
Ann, that sounds like a great trip! We love Viking as well and would love to do another one with them.
