With the birth of a new baby also comes baby showers and we recently had one here in Marietta for Lauren. My sister’s good friends at church all got together and threw a beautiful baby bash. Those girls are great! She got a lot of beautiful things and it was fun to see friends and relatives that day, all of us celebrating the new arrival due in February. Her name is going to be Parker Fox (Fox is her middle name). Not an ordinary name, but one the parents liked. Fox is named after Philip’s mom’s family name.  I think it has a really cute ring to it and Lauren will have fun monograming for that baby.
The shower was hosted by Joan, one of Renee’s friends from church and you’re going to enjoy this mini-house tour too. It’s a beautiful place!
Those ladies outdid themselves with the tables all set up so pretty, with some mighty tasty food.
I had a hard time getting good pics since I was snapping pics so fast, but it was all kinds of salads on the table. So yummy!
Stuffed animals and beautiful flowers for the centerpiece.
More cute dolls on the bread table.
The dessert table was so pretty. Lots of yummy goodies, including a chocolate cake, cake pops, cupcakes and more.
Beautiful table!
This was a fun little touch, using Lauren and Philip’s baby pics on the table.
The punch was festive with rubber ducks floating around. Amazing all the fun ideas out there for baby showers these days.
Joan’s home is just gorgeous, with this huge greatroom. A fireplace is the focal point on this end with built-in bookcases.
And this is the other end of that spacious soaring ceiling room.
Pretty, isn’t it? There was plenty of room for all the guests.
A bank of windows looks outside to a beautiful pond.
And pool! There’s pond and waterfall to the left and a big pond out back. Can you imagine this in your backyard?
They also have a family room right off the kitchen.
Here’s the beautiful mom-to be, Lauren.
I made her pose with her almost 6 month baby bump. She’s looking so cute, as I knew she would.
Guests arriving. We had family friends, friends of my sisters, neighbors, and family there. It was a very fun day!
After a delicious lunch, we all got settled in for gift opening. That’s the fun part!
Mom was there with a family friend, Penny, looking on. They are looking pretty serious here, but we were all laughing and having fun.
Lauren and her mom, my sister Renee. Let the gift opening begin!
Pretty picture frame.
She got a lot of beautiful baby girl clothes.
Girls are so much fun to buy for, aren’t they. I’m sure this is going to be one stylish baby.
Loved this cute outfit.
A bouncy seat, which will come in handy.
Her mom/stepdad and I gave her a Pottery Barn glass chandelier that was on her wishlist for the nursery. She’s excited about that!
One of the ladies made this beautiful dress for the baby. Isn’t this just gorgeous? I’m sure this will be the baby dedication gown.
Another cute outfit in chevron.
One of Lauren’s beautiful friends and bridesmaid, Ashley, came up from Montgomery where she lives. And if you’re in the area, Ashley is the local weather girl on one of the big TV stations. How fun is that?  They are 2 weeks apart in their pregnancies.
I had them compare baby bumps. How cute are they?!
Lauren and her Aunt Rhody (as she calls me).
And all 4 of us girls. We’ll soon have one more to join the pics.
Our cousin, Brenda, came to the shower with her daughter, Denise, who just started college this year. It was great to see them as always. We’ll be seeing them again in a couple of weeks for Thanksgiving at Brenda’s house.
So, I hope you enjoyed seeing Lauren’s baby shower. It was a fun and festive day with lots of smiling and happiness around. We are so excited for this new baby girl, Parker’s arrival!
Over time, I have seen many pics of Lauren on the blog ,but she has never looked lovelier than now.
Lauren looks as beautiful as ever. I’ve always thought that you and Lauren look like mother/daughter.
You have a beautiful family. Wishing all of u congrats on the future lady to join the family.
Such a happy day in a beautiful setting! When I had my baby shower, I also lived in Marietta! Such fond memories of dear friends.
Rhoda, you captured the shower so well. Congrats again on your new family memeber!
What a nice shower! I love seeing Joan’s house. Pink is my favorite color and I’m always interested when someone has the “courage” to decorate with pink and rose. Such a beautiful home!
Beautiful shower and gorgeous home! My favorite colors are pink and green and that green striped room caught my eye as soon as I saw it. And, what a precious shower!
A beautiful shower with beautiful people in a beautiful home — such a wonderful day!
Congratulations on your new blessing. We are expecting our second grand daughter in 3 short weeks – and my daughter’s MIL had a nice “sprinkling” for her last weekend. Such fun! (BTW, we have that same bouncer and it DOES come in very handy!) Congratulations again and many blessing to you and your family!

Beautiful shower, beautiful, home and gorgeous mom to be!!!! Thanks for taking us along Aunt Rhody!!
Oh, I really enjoyed this post. I see so much love and joy in it. I also just have to say that I see some tiny little something in Lauren’s face that so reminds me of your dad, Rhoda, Lauren’s grandfather. Can’t put my finger on it, but Papaw’s there for sure.
Wishing your niece all the best!!!
Lauren is beautiful and know you all are so excited about this baby girl! Congrats to all!
Rhoda
She favors you so much. Great pictures.
Such a sweet shower and your niece is just glowing…. her sweet friend is our sweet Weathergirl! We have an Ashley Bobblehead doll 🙂
I know, isn’t that fun, she is a meteorologist down there in Montgomery.
Great pictures. Adorable dresses, beautiful white little dress, great seamstress. Loved all the baby clothes too. 🙂 oh by the way Rhoda when are you getting your pool put in? 😉 Have a blessed weekend coming up.
It is like a dream! So many dishes that I can`t even what a wonderful smell there was. I always wondered how people can cook so many dishes at one time and how much time it takes to do this!
May I ask how many people were in attendance. I’m throwing a baby shower for my friend at her mothers house.
HI, Melodi, I’m not sure, but I’d guess around 25 people were there.
