Before she came home for the baby shower, Lauren, my pregnant niece, has been working away on their house, getting a few more things done. She’s in major nesting mode. One of the areas they wanted to work on first is their master bedroom, so I worked with one of my sponsors, Payless Décor, to get some shades for their 2 windows in the bedroom.
She ordered a pretty upholstered headboard from Wayfair that goes nicely with their striped bedding and found drapes and a rug that she loved at Pottery Barn. But, she needed a neutral linen type fabric shade to pull it all together. So, she browsed Payless Décor’s website and found just what she wanted with these pretty Roman shades. They fit right in with her neutral décor and block light too, since they are lined.
These shades are Advantage plus Roman shade in Uma Sand. If you click over to the website, you can see all the colors and fabrics these shades come in. Lots of choices for a stylish window! Philip was handy man for the day and got them installed for her. I imagine Lauren was at at the bottom of the ladder with helping suggestions along the way.
Philip got them installed in no time and they unfolded to the perfect length. These blinds are made to fit each window.
And here they are all finished and looking pretty. Just the right neutral touch behind the drapes. They are still working on this room and don’t have lamps or many accessories yet, but I love the direction she is heading.
Pretty drapes and shades. The bird rods she found at Lowes and they look just like her.
Pulling back the drapes to see how they look. Lauren said they hold out the light really well in the mornings.
The other window is dressed the same and this side looks out those beautiful wood doors with shutters to the backyard pool.
I wanted to share these shades with you all and give you the opportunity for a discount from Payless Décor. Beautiful!!! Just wondering where the drapes are from? Love them!!
I had that in the post, from Pottery Barn.
Ooookay…
Great blinds! But…also would LOVE to know about that beautiful headboard and those fantastic doors!Congratulations to the mama-to be!!
Catherine, headboard from Wayfair.com and the doors came with the house. The afternoon sun streams in this side of the house, so definitely necessary to have those doors.
very pretty. they better hurry because we all know decorating just stops after wee ones arrive 🙂 really love the hinged panels for the french doors and have never seen this before. did they come with the house?
Hi, Suzi, they did come with the house, the previous owners had them built.
That looks great already! The blinds and drapes are perfect.
A man who reads directions! What a find! I love the shutters for the French doors…smart idea for people who like a dark room for sleeping in.
Love the direction this room is heading! Love the fabrics, and the little birds on the curtain rod! However, their bed looks so small? Is it a full?
It’s a queen bed. Not sure why it looks so tiny in the pictures! (probably because I was taking them instead of Rhoda).
It looks tiny in the photo! I started feeling sorry for you, since you’re pregnant and the bed looked as though it only allowed a “party of 1”. haha! BTW, I’m in law school right now in Florida. Love looking back at old posts on here from when you were in school and then graduated. Gives me hope. I’ll be a 2L next semester. I was a spring 2013 admit.
I just tried to enter the savings code, but it wouldn’t work. No big deal, I can’t afford what I want now anyway, just wanted you to know. Maybe it’s because I’m using my kindle?
THanks, Marianne, someone else emailed me about that, so I’m checking with Payless right now!
The code should be fixed now, sorry about that!
Rhoda, I look at these types of blinds, and always wonder- do they raise & lower without a hassle? I need them for my house on lots of windows, but need to actually use them daily. The only experience I have with these types are the old matchstick & cheap Roman blinds that don’t work too well. Thoughts?
HI, Kathy, my Roman bamboo blinds that I got from Payless function really well and I raise & lower them every day in my bedroom. The other rooms don’t get as much use, but I totally use them a lot and so far, so good, almost a year later. I love them very much, they function well and are pretty too.
Rhoda,
Thanks for the reply. I’ll give Payless a try! Love your blog. I’m just down the road from you in Smyrna!
Thanks so very much for sharing about Payless Decor! I ordered blindes for 5 rooms in my house and I am so pleased. The majority of my order came so fast and they e-mailed today that the rest was shipped. The service is fabulous and the blinds look beautiful. I am so glad to be replacing those old blinds and freshing up my windows. You are helping me furnish my home so nicely.
Great, Kaye! I’m so glad to hear that.
Love Lauren’s choices – this is really becoming a beautiful and calm looking retreat. I love the nightstands – they remind me of the old Thomasville Camille line which was always my favorite. Where did Lauren find those?
Hi Janet, those are Thomasville nightstands. I found them on Craigslist from a girl that re-does furniture. She let me pick out the colors I wanted and then painted them for me with Annie Sloan chalk paint. I asked her to leave the tops original wood.
The blinds and drapes finish off the room, it looks really lovely, I am a neutral gal myself and have similar colours in my own bedroom. A lovely job.
Lee 🙂
Appreciate the recommendation. Will try iit out.
