Living Plant Gift Ideas {Giveaway}

We are one week away from Thanksgiving and you know what that means?  Christmas will be flying in with  super speed and we will all be scurrying around getting our homes decorated and spruced up for Christmas.

How and when do you decorate for Christmas?  I’m starting now and have actually started earlier than this before, but I’m trying to savor the season and enjoy the moments in our new house.  Have you thought about adding real plants in your home to decorate for Christmas?  Or do you have those folks in your life who  are hard to buy for?

You know?  The ones who already have everything so what do you buy them?  Gifting can be a challenge during this time of the year, when you want to remember someone, but you don’t want to just give them a gift card or just any old thing.

Know anyone that would qualify for a gift like this?  I know a few of them in my world.

I met the fine folks at Jackson and Perkins at my Spring visit to Moss Mountain farm out in Arkansas earlier this year and I’m partnering with them today to share some wonderful and beautiful gift ideas with you for the upcoming season.

I’m going to share some great gift ideas that you might not have considered before for those special someones who may be hard to buy for, but would appreciate a living gift for Christmas.  Jackson and Perkins sent me some beautiful living plants to try out at my house, to welcome in the Holiday season with special plants that really speak to this time of year and the celebrating at home that we will all be doing the rest of the year.

Instead of a same ole’ same ole’ sweater or shirt for someone, how about a living gift?

This lovely Seasons Greetings succulent garden has a hint of red berries and evergreen sprigs tucked inside that add such a merriment to my side table in the kitchen. I just love this little plant!

I haven’t seen Christmas catus in awhile, but this one in a rustic crate is so pretty and will really add some festive touches to our house this season.

The blooms on this catus are just gorgeous and they opened up after it arrived at my house.

It’s been so fun to watch it unfold and get more beautiful every day.

I had fun playing around with the succulent garden and added some pretty gold balls to really accent the Christmas spirit it adds.  Can’t you imagine the joy it would bring to someone to give them a live plant for Christmas and have it delivered to their door?  Sharing the Christmas joy when you’re not sure what to buy for someone.

When the Christmas cactus arrived, it wasn’t even blooming yet and then day by day it opened up.

And an explosion of red blooms popped out so pretty.  I know it’s going to add so much to our house over the Holidays this year. I just love plants and can never have too many of them.  In fact, I plan to add more plants to our house. They just make a house come alive and feel so good.

And the third plant from Jackson and Perkins I’m enjoying in our home this season is this beautiful white orchid in a pretty coppery pot. I haven’t had really good luck with orchids before, but I’m going to try to keep this one alive. It really adds a lot of beauty to our foyer table coming in the door.

So, back to those hard to buy for friends and relatives.  You know who they are!   If you haven’t considered a live Christmas plant before, maybe this year you should.  Real plants bring so much joy and such a warm feeling to a home and I think most everyone would enjoy having one of these beauties around, don’t you?

This post is sponsored by Jackson and Perkins, but all these ideas are my own, as is my love of plants in general.

And really great news….Jackson and Perkins is going to give away a $100 giftcard to one of my readers so that you can shop for live Chrismtas gifts this year and add some festive touches to your home too!  Don’t you love that?

Just fill out the Rafflecopter widget with your email and answer this question….

What plant would you choose from Jackson and Perkins to decorate with for the Christmas Holidays?

One very fortunate person will win a giftcard for $100 to shop at Jackson and Perkins online.  Check out their beautiful Holiday Collection and Gift guides for all those gorgeous live plants!  You’re going to love the choices they have over there!

Well, let me see. I have never had an orchid or any of the succulents. I have seen small individual plants at home improvement stores of the succulents. I really really really tried to keep a Christmas cactus and a poinsettia alive all year to get blooms this year and I didn’t succeed. The cactus decided to turn brown. I believed I couldn’t hurt it because it would need so little water nd attention. Something happened. I would want the Christmas cactus because it is just beautiful and speaks color for the home. The one you have says Jackson and Perkins did a wonderful job bringing the plant to blooms. I knew Jackson and Perkins were in the business of roses but, no idea of all the other wonderful plants.

I have several Christmas cactuses! One is just now displaying tiny buds but I look so forward to their blooms every year. My friend in Apalachicola has gigantic ones that are spectacular! But what I really appreciate is how easy they are to maintain and add greenery in our home all year long.

    Merry Christmas y’all!

We always sent a plant to my sweet MIL. It added life to some of the gloomy, snowy days she would experience during the winter months in MI. And, my Granny always had a Christmas cactus.

My grandmother always had a Christmas cactus in her entry hall. Brings back such memories! I really like both that Jackson & Perkins carries, the candy cane and red cactus in the crate. Of course, succulent arrangement are always pull me in, too 🙂 Thanks for this post, Rhoda!
