I wish you all a very Merry Christmas from our house to yours. We are not traveling this year, but staying home and 2 of Peter’s three younguns (all 20-somethings) are visiting for a couple days. I’m cooking a big meal on Christmas Day and we will celebrate the season with the kids and Peter’s mom and Grandma Eleanor. It’s sure to be a memorable day!
I’ll be seeing my family in a couple of weeks over in Atlanta, since we just enjoyed a very fun few days with them for Thanksgiving. It will be nice to just relax for the weekend and not have to be anywhere, but stay home and enjoy our cozy home for the Holidays, with the Christmas lights on and maybe watching some old movies.
I hope you all have a peaceful Christmas and revel in the beauty this time of year holds. Jesus is truly the reason for the season and may we all remember that.

One of my very sweet readers and a Southern Living at Home consultant, Patti, sent me my very own copy of Christmas with Southern Living 2009 and she sent an extra copy for me to give away to ONE of YOU! Isn’t that exciting?!
From Entertaining, to Recipes, Decorating and Gift-giving ideas, the book covers it all. You know that if Southern Living writes a book, it will be a beautiful book and it certainly is that.
The pictures are fabulous, as are the recipes and decorating ideas.
This will be a book you will definitely want to add to your collection and pull out each Christmas for years to come.
All you have to do is leave a comment HERE on this post! I’ll leave the contest open all weekend through Monday and announce a winner on Tuesday.
Have a great Christmas weekend, my friends! I want to take the opportunity to thank ALL of you for being such great readers this last year and for your support of my blog. It means the world to me! Ya’ll make blogging so much fun and I am rewarded daily from the friendships I’ve made in the blogworld.
THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! 🙂 I am looking forward to a very fun 2010 with all of you.
If you’re online this weekend and want to look at more Christmas inspiration, I’ve updated my Tumblr (click here and there’s always a link on my sidebar too ——>) file and added a lot of eye candy that I saw from the Home for the Holidays tour and around blogland in general. I was having problems adding things on there for awhile, but now I’ve got it going again, so you’ll want to check in from time to time. There are some beautiful pics out there from everyone! I’ll add more as I get time. I tried so hard to get around to all 300+ of you and I still haven’t made it. 🙂

I would love to win the book. Merry Christmas!

Hi there
I have been following your blog for quite a while and absolutely love it! This is my first time leaving a message. I would love to have a copy of the book. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas…enjoy!
Merry Christmas, Rhoda! Read your blog everyday, gal. You live where we lived when our girls were growing up. Lived in B’ham for lots of years so I read your blog to remember when and to see how things have changed when you are out and about. Love it. I also took that Ethan Allan class you mentioned and it was in Vestavia almost at the top of the hill. Going up the hill from Hoover, it was on the left side of the road in a strip mall. I think Yieldings and Parisians were close by at that time. I used to shop in all three stores. So enjoy your blog. I don’t blog but do read yours everyday. Thanks for all you do and hope you have a relaxing weekend with family.

Rhoda, Thank you for the sweet comment on my blog! We have been blessed with the knowledge of the importance of loving one another! Time is so short and love is the only thing we can really give one another that lasts!
Your blog is always so lovely and even though I read it weekly I hardly make comments. But I do want to thank you for all you do to help us girls decorate our homes without breaking the bank! I love my home and LOVE to decorate!
