What happens when you mix all of this together?
On a big baking pan, layering the chips, throwing on the Rotel (I especially love the lime with cilantro version with this), black olives, and cheese?
A cheesey wonderfulness that can’t be described!
Oh, my word…it is SO good! Great for football games, we have even been known to have this for dinner. Of course, you can add anything else your little heart desires, like black beans, chiles, etc.
Someone asked about bake time: all I do is set my oven to Broil (High), stick the pan in the oven for probably 2 minutes until the cheese is nice and bubbly and the edges of the chips start to brown. It doesn’t take long!
Try it, you’ll devour it too. 🙂 We went through 2 pans last weekend for the Alabama football game.
Don’t forget, bright and early tomorrow morning, we will begin Home for the Holidays 2009! Be here!

Mmmmmm! Does this look good! Will try these the way you make them with the lime/cilantro Rotel. We love Nachos here. My husband and I back when we were dating would sometimes go out for Nachos and a beer at a place that is no longer standing. Nothing has been as good since. These just might be the replacement we have been searching for! Thanks!

We use up leftover turkey this way… layer chips, turkey, beans, cheese (pepper jack is our fav.) olives, tomatoes….heat then add guacamole!

I usually add some Mexican meat ‘mix’ to ours–but we do something very similar (my meat mix is just ground beef and a can of ranch or black beans mixed, and seasoned with garlic and onion and lots of cumin and cilantro and chili powder-including some really spicy peppers).
Yum. Maybe we should have Tex Mex for dinner tonight…

but I have a question: you layer the ingredients, and then how long do you bake it, and at what temperature? thanks!

Hello Rhoda,
I love your blog and have reading it for several monthes now. I saw these nochos and never thought to broil I would bake..and it took much longer, thanks for the tip. Also I saw the Man Sandwich from 2-08 and tried to get the reciepe off the site from the person that made them and it wouldn’t take me there. So if you ever get a minute could you please post the directions for me, I would love to try them.
Have a wonderful day.

Rhoda,
I am holding you personally responsible for the ten pounds I gained looking at that delicious picture. Oh well, it’s behind me now…unfortunately.
I will be back tomorrow to look at everyone’s beautiful Christmas decor.

Now that just looks like a whole bunh of heaven to me girl. I’m going to have to try that. The FGK (five great kiddos) love nachos, so this will be a nice alternative.
