Need a New Sweetener Instead of Sugar?

Cutting calories, don’t we all think about that?

I got to try out a new all natural sweetener recently made with monk fruit (never heard of it til now)!  If you’re looking to cut calories and sugar, give it a look.

I’ll give you the whole scoop over here, if you’d like to hear more about it.

WOW – that’s all I can say, Rhoda. I’ve been cleaning up my diet and working to be as healthy as possible for the last 5 years, beginning with bariatric surgery. Yes, I know – that’s pretty radical. I’ve kept the weight off, but work hard to lose that last bunch of pounds and to keep toned and fit. I fed myself artificial sweeteners for all that time, until recently realizing I was actually hurting myself! So, I switched to stevia. Now this comes along – Hallelujah! Naturally derived — from a fruit — I’m hoping this is a big step in a good direction. I’m glad the makers of Splenda have been listening to the warnings about artificial sweeteners. I suspect Nectresse may be their replacement product! Thanks! I’ve signed up for my free sample and will post about this on my blog.

I dunno…I’m very skeptical about anything from the makers of Splenda. Think I’ll stick with natural stevia instead.

Funny, my original post must have been deleted. I had links to articles regarding Splenda and artificial sweetners. Oh well. I like to be informed.

HI,Kathleen, no it’s not deleted, your comment and links are over on the actual post here:

Thanks for chiming in, I don’t mind the controversy, I need to stay informed too. I know so many things are bad for us, we just have to pick and choose what we decide to eat and ingest.

DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT A HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE . As with any sweetener, natural or artificial…. it has a funny aftertaste. Not like aspartame, not bitter, but it definitely doesn’t taste like sugar.
Beware, you may think you are avoiding cancer-causing artificial sweeteners by choosing this “natural” sweetener…. but this product contains sodium benzoate, a known carcinogen used as a preservative in many different products, especially salad dressings. Check your labels!

Thanks so much for posting this! I love Splenda, so hopefully this will taste just as good! Splenda has been the perfect replacement for all the sugar I was putting in my coffee and it tastes just as good. I tried Truvia and didn’t like the taste of that one. I signed up for the free sample – can’t wait to try it!

I just remembered this. Who out remembers when Splenda was introduced and was presented as being 100% natural, made from real sugar? Of course, I rushed right out and bought it. So can we now believe the manufacturer’s hype about Nectresse? I really doubt it.
