Painting Gold Stripes on Candles

So, I’ve got one more project to share with you for FrogTape®.   And, of course, it’s a Christmas idea.  I’ve seen those pretty striped gold candles around, so I figured why not make my own.  I took 2 white candles and taped them off with FrogTape and used my gold spray paint to spray stripes on them.  They turned out really cute and I tried them  out to make sure they wouldn’t blow up from the paint.  I used them for my party on Sunday and they they burned down more than 1/2 way with no problem at all.  I love the added bling they bring to plain white candles.

But, please use discretion on this project.  I don’t want anyone to burn the house down.  In fact, I would advise you NOT burn them to be really safe.  They are so pretty to look at.

I taped them all up with my FrogTape making stripes about the same width apart.

Took them outside and shot them with gold spray paint.

I let them dry to the touch and then took the tape off. Sometimes on little projects the paint can be really messy when it’s still wet.  The stripes turned out nice and crisp!

They look so pretty in my brass candlesticks I picked up at the thriftstore while I was in Asheville. These are very heavy brass candlesticks.  Fun to add these candles to them and enjoy the holidays.

If you don’t want to DIY your candles, I see that World Market has them online for a great price too!

So, that’s my FrogTape project this month.  I’ve been working with FrogTape for over 2 years now as a Brand Ambassador and I’m sad to say, this will be my last post with them.  I was simply running out of ideas to share using FrogTape, so I decided to drop out for now.  They  have been wonderful to work with and I know many of you have bought FrogTape because I have used it for so many things in my house.  I have a nice supply of it around and no doubt, will still be using it for many things.  Thanks, FrogTape, it’s been so great working with all of you!

Rhoda, the candles came out great, I can understand how it would be difficult to keep on thinking up new projects for the tape.

I have to tell you that I only tried this tape because of your recommendations and I”m hooked, I won’t use any other for paint projects and I recommended it to my friends that now use it too. Word of mouth is the best advertising!

This is a great project! I hate to hear that you are no longer going to be a brand ambassador for Frog Tape. I tried the regular, the wavy and the chevron because of your blog and love it. My daughters are also hooked on it as well. I hope another blogger picks up where you left off so this great product continues to be promoted.

I’m so glad you ladies have tried the tape and love it too. It really is the best and I’ll definitely continue to use it. I just wanted to be transparent about it and I figured y’all might wonder why I’m not doing more posts for them, so I just wanted to put it out there. It was becoming very hard to keep coming up with new and exciting projects, especially after my house was done. I used it all over my house for so many projects while we were renovating.

I have no doubt that other opportunities will come my way. God has a way of opening doors when one closes and He hasn’t failed me yet.

Love the candles – so pretty! I have done some spray painting projects because of your ideas. You always make it look easy and doable. You have such a sweet testimony of what God is doing in your life and what He will provide in the future.

Rhoda, what a good idea! Your candles look wonderful and so special.

I’m glad you’ve had a good run with Frog Tape–a great product, for sure. I admire you for stepping back when you don’t have anything particular to share. God bless you for conducting your business with that kind of honor!

Love these elegant candles! When you post an easy DIY project, it inspires me to at least try! These look great and sounds like Frog Tape is a DIY girl’s best friend. Merry Christmas!
