As with most things in life, I like to make stylish choices in all my décor additions, don’t you? So, I know that maybe this title didn’t draw you in that much, but did you realize that Kleenex brand tissues are 90 years old! Did you know that Kleenex started out as a facial tissue for removing makeup? No, I didn’t either, although the name Kleenex has become more of an identifying name for tissues way beyond the brand name that it represents.
How many times have you said, hand me a Kleenex? All the time! I’ve had allergies since I was a young girl and have ALWAYS had tissues around the house and Kleenex has been a big part of that experience. So many rooms in my house have decorative tissue boxes and if you have to have them out and in plain view, if you’re a decorator and care about these things, then why not make them stylish too? And we do care about these small details in life, don’t we? I know I do! When I’m in the grocery store or whatever store picking out boxes of tissue, I definitely consider the style of the box before I throw in in the cart.
So, I’m partnering up with Kleenex to help you find your style. They have so many cute new Kleenex styles out now, so see!
To celebrate Kleenex’s 90th anniversary, they’re bringing you another innovative first: The Kleenex® Style Studio. It’s a fun, inspiring way to discover more of the Kleenex® Brand designs and products you love. And maybe even a few that’ll take you by surprise.
Whether you’re decorating at home or adding a pop of color to your clutch, Kleenex® has you covered. I like that Kleenex cares about home decorating trends and what looks good in our homes right now. And as we know, that is ever-changing, so why not change up tissue boxes too?
Here are a few Kleenex styles at my house right now. My roommate, Rhonda, actually had this box on her nightstand already. With shades of blues, greens and red, it totally goes with her room décor. Fits right in next to the doggie treats!
My office space with shades of blues and greens is an easy area to add this fancy seaside inspired box of Kleenex. It looks right at home on my office shelves.
This soothing palette of blue and green also is right at home next to my reading chair. So what’s your fave design?
Who says you can have style and function all in one spot?! You definitely can!

Cute designs! I’m so thankful they stepped up their game. My mom used to make needlepoint Kleenex box covers back in the ’80’s. Remember those? Imagine how many germs were on that thing. Bleh!
Yes, Beth, I totally remember those. They were pretty darn ugly!
I buy the large packs from Costco because we go through them pretty quickly (with a family of 7). But I do think the pretty boxes are much better. 🙂
I clicked on the link to take the survey but it was just a blank page.
I found a Kleenex box I loved once, and rather than tossing it into the recycling bin, I cut open the bottom, and refill it with a new batch. By just opening up the flap on the side of the new one, I can pull out the “stack” and slip it in the one I like. I keep it in a box I hand painted to match the tissue box design. One downfall, my grandson tried to bring the Kleenex box into another room, not knowing the bottom was open. Yep, they all fell out. No big deal, but he felt bad that he messed up about 25 tissues trying to get them picked up! ;-))
Question — did anyone ever win the drawing on the NatureBox last month?
Hi, Sue, thanks for the reminder, I knew I forgot something. I’ve just posted the winners over there now and will post a link on tomorrow’s post.

Those look fabulous in your home. I’ll have to check them out although my colours are’t so fresh. p.s. There was just an ad on the link…no question.
Love the colors of the Kleenex boxes and yes I too like to color coordinate my tissue boxes with my decorating style. Hope you have a great day!
I can relate to this issue since I have a cold and just placed a bunch of boxes all over the house so I am not far from one! I use some my dad’s handkerchiefs to cough into and for small sniffles. I have memories of learning how to iron by pressing his handkerchiefs.
I do like the new styles and I tend to buy a few extra boxes of my favorites. I’ll have to try that trick of transferring tissues into the older favorite boxes.
I’ve also used some favorite quilt fabrics and sewn some box covers which can be tossed in the wash. It’s easy to get a variety of instructions on the net.
But, what about the trash baskets? I look for different things to use. By one chair, I use an old glass vase which was an odd shape and I was not using for flowers, buy it was pretty. When not in use, it disappears from view. Of course, you have to be good and empty it. Another favorite basket is a silver-plated wine cooler. When I need to actually use the cooler, it is just a simple clean and use. What do you use for trash baskets?
Fun post and pictures to go along with the fun Kleenex boxes.
Loved meeting Parker and seeing Lauren so radiant and happy. Can’t wait until you post more pictures of the happy family on your Facebook page.
The survey does not work. This is the 3rd blog post regarding Kleenex and the survey hasn’t worked on any of them. Love all the designs Kleenex has now!
Sorry, Gina, I’ve noticed that if you do the survey once, it won’t show again anywhere else. I wonder if that is it.
Time to say goodbye. I’ve enjoyed your blog for several years but now it’s time to say good bye. I know this is how you make your living…but it has become just too commercial for me. Wish you all the best in the future.
~Hi Rhoda~
I was wondering if the black shelves in your office are from Ballards?? I was thinking about them for my kitchen to hold white dishes, would they hold the weight??
Thank you
Paula
p.s looking forward to more of your getaway pictures !
HI, Paula, yes, those shelves are from Ballards and I love them. I think if you can anchor them in a stud or a heavy duty anchor you could use them for dishes. They are nice and sturdy.
I think this post and your paid advertising has gone to far. I am unsubscribing.
Carla
Love this post and I love your slip cover reading chair. Is the slip cover something you purchased or did the chair come with the slip cover? The big slip cover chairs are so inviting and comfortable.
HI, Kristie, that is a Salvation Army chair and ottoman and my former grandmother-in-law helped me make that slip cover years ago. It’s very comfy!
For those of you complaining about my sponsored posts, I really don’t get the aggravation or animosity towards this at all. I have always been up front that this, along with ad networks is how I make a living and I average one sponsored post a week, so around 4 to 5 sponsored posts a month out of 20 to 22 posts a month, which doesn’t seem to be obsessive at all and besides, this is a free blog. A very personal blog where I share a lot with my readers. It costs you nothing to visit here every day and this makes it sound like you are going to punish me for not entertaining you on certain days. Sorry, I just don’t get it!
Rhoda,
I feel bad about some complaining and leaving your blog, I know that must hurt. And yes you have been very open and up front, so please don’t let them get to you and remember “Don’t sweat the small stuff”, I just heard a sermon this morning, that the Lord lives within us and is stronger for us then we could ever be.
Without even meeting you, I just know you are a dear kind woman 🙂 God Bless.

p.s thank you for replying about the shelves
I just discovered your blog right before Christmas and subscribed to it. I have so enjoyed it and
don’t understand the complaints. You do a beautiful job and I cannot imagine the many hours you
put into it. To be able to make a living at this is just so great. Keep up the GOOD WORK.
Especially loved the Tybee Weekend.
I just love stopping by your blog.
