Razzle Dazzle with the Hoover Service Club

Recently, I joined my friend, Shannon, who is the lady behind Southern Beauty Magazine, to participate in an event called Razzle Dazzle that she was helping with for the Hoover Service Club.  So, I tagged along and set up a table for my thrifty finds and handed out business cards.

The Hoover Service Club, founded in 1975,  is comprised of civic minded women who combine their talents to meet needs in the community.   If you haven’t visited Shannon’s online magazine, you must!  It’s full of fun beauty tips and is a great read. Picture 022

It was held at the Wynfrey Galleria Hotel, which is a beautiful place for an event. Picture 013

Bobbi Brown make-up was represented through Belk, with several of their make-up artists attending to those in the fashion show, which Shannon and her Southern Beauty team were hosting. Picture 014

So, right next to my table was a Bobbi Brown makeup table.  Picture 039

And Belk provided many clothes for the fashion show.  Picture 015

A silent auction was held for a couple of hours in the morning before lunch started, along with the fashion show.  Picture 018

Many fine vendors had donated some beautiful items for the silent auction. Picture 020

Including this sassy green bicycle from Regions Bank.

In case you think that Southern Belles are no more, think again.  There are still plenty of Belles in the South and these cute girls were greeters.  Picture 028

Another table next to mine, Sugar Britches Design has clothing and pretty paper goods.

I set up a round table with some of my thrifty finds just to show what sort of things I do and the 500 ladies that attended the event, walked around and chatted and browsed.  Picture 009

I had a few ask to buy some of my things off the table, so I had to explain to them that it was a display only and these things came from my house. Picture 010

It was fun chatting with those who came by.

Then it was time for lunch and the fashion show, so we all made our way into the conference room where a fashion runway was set up. Picture 036

These pretty pink roses were the table centerpiece. Picture 034

And cute Lisa, Shannon’s partner at Southern Beauty, was the emcee for the fashion show and she did a great job.  I absolutely LOVED her cute little black and white jacket she wore during the show. Picture 047

We all enjoyed the fashion show and packed it up and went home.

Fun day out at a women’s event.

Do you enjoy ladies day out with the girls?  I sure do!

Hi Rhoda, that sounds like a fun event to be joining!! Good advertising for you. Oh and to be by Bobbi Brown!! My all time favorite make-up. I have used her products since it first started showing up at Nordstroms. They had been there 6 months. I read about it in a magazine while standing at the checkout. It was Meg Ryan and some other actresses wearing Sand Pink lipstick and I started the quest to find it. Her products were only in LA and NY at the time but a few months later it emerged in Nordstroms and I have been using it ever since. Sorry for the novel, hehe. Have a great day!! Kathysue

What a fun day Rhoda!! I love a day out with the girls. Nothing better to help get re-charged and renewed! Your table looks so nice. Went yard saling today, but no luck. Some days are just like that. Better luck next time. Love & blessings from NC!

Looks like so much fun you all had! Always fun when you can get together with girlfriends!

I just got back from a “Women of Joy” conference in Tennessee. Six of us girlfriends from church went together and the whole trip (four days) was so much fun!
