Room Service Atlanta and Mitchell Gold Party

Well, this week was spent on a very good cause, working alongside Room Service Atlanta,  renovating the United Methodist Children’s Home, Sam Bell cottage and while it was extremely tiring, it was oh, so very rewarding.  Seeing that cottage come to life and shine like a new penny was so awesome to see, as 19 participating designers came together with ideas of how they could take those drab, lifeless rooms and bring them up to date with furnishings and accessories.  It was truly inspiring to watch!

I’ll be blogging all about the rooms as soon as I can find a spare minute to edit my pics and get them up for you, but in the meantime, if you’d like to join us for the wrap party this coming Thursday night and meet the designers, you are all invited.  Just RSVP to Mitchell-Gold if you’d like to join us.

This Thursday evening from 5-7 pm, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams in Buckhead will be hosting a wrap party and you can meet the designers and hear all about this inspiring project that has now been completed, as well as about future projects that Room Service Atlanta will be a part of.

I was so happy to be part of this project with 2 wonderful local gals, Lori and Angela.  You can see Lori’s design plan that she put together, giving a visual of what we were going for.  We are so happy with how our rooms turned out and I can’t wait to share it all with you.  You’ll be amazed at the before and after pics of this whole project!

Angela is so talented and painted some really cool large paintings for the space, one of which is a rendering of a Waffle House sign.  Isn’t that fantastic and graphic?  These spaces will house young men from 18-21 and I know they will love their new digs.

I managed to enlist some much needed help from sponsors Rust-Oleum, who sent primer for our walls, Purdy, who sent paint brushes and supplies for painting, Dutch Boy, who sent 4 gallons of paint for our walls, Kirklands, who donated 2 beautiful yellow lamps for our project, and Lowes, who gave us giftcards to cover the cool vinyl plank flooring we ended up putting in our spaces.

Thank you a million times to our sponsors for their help in pulling this off!

Can’t wait to show it off soon!

Ha, I absolutely love the Waffle House art. My husband was working at a Waffle House in Illinois when I met him and I worked there for a while too. The art brings back memories besides it is a very good rendition of the sign. Love it. Also what a great project to help those less fortunate. Great job. I can’t wait to see how everything turned out.
