Shopping in Canton, GA: Fun Finds

A friend introduced me to a couple of shopping spots in Canton, GA that I had never been to before.  Fun Finds is in Canton, right off of I-75 and it’s a consignment store with lots of home decor.  I talked to the owner, Betty and she said that she has been an interior designer for years and with the economy like it is, decided to open up a consignment shop a couple of years ago and that it is doing well.  It really doesn’t look like a consignment store when you walk in, that’s for sure.

It was fun to browse and see what all is out there.

Pretty table

015

Lots of furniture and accessories.

016

Lots to see.

017

Doesn’t look consignment, does it?

018

If you are in the area, check them out and tell Betty I sent you.

019

020

This little bunny planter was too cute, but no I didn’t get it.

Check out this banquette set.  Funky for sure!

035

Carousel horse.

038

I think these book cases would be a good paint candidate.

039

Side table and dishes.

043

I love barley twist tables like this.

Now here’s what I bought.  My mom needed some new artwork to go in their bedroom, so I found this large canvas painting for $35.  I thought it was a great deal and it looks so good with the new bedding we got.  We are almost finished with the bathroom and I hope to share that next week!  It’s looking beautiful!

055

Just down the road is another stop, Cherokee Close Outs.  I had no idea what to expect in here.

044

There were a lot of things to browse, from food to dishes, but the light fixtures caught my eye.  We needed a new vanity light fixture in my parents new bathroom and I found one for $33 total.  That’s a great deal and I’ll show it to you when I show off the new bathroom.  Coming soon, we’re not quite finished with it yet.

048

Lots of pretty sconces and the prices were very reasonable.

046

Brass mixed with chrome and oil rubbed bronze.

050

Lanterns and vanity styles.

052

These outdoor fixtures are pretty.

054

They even carry some bathroom vanities too.

So, there you have it!  Some shopping spots in Canton, GA that you might never have been to before.  This was my first time, but I can tell you, I’ll go back and check them both out again.

I LOVE these places too Rhoda! I have gotten everything from lighting to floral stems to dog supplies in Cherokee Closeouts. Have you ever been to Woodstock Outlet? Well, years ago Woodstock Outlet was exactly like Cherokee Closeouts! They have surely come a long way from those days. That was where I got my very first dining room table! Also, in case you have never visited the Canton Goodwill, it is right down from Cherokee Closeouts in the K-Mart shopping center….it’s a pretty good one!

Cindy, yes I have been to Woodstock Outlet many times. Haven’t been back there since I moved back to Marietta, but it has always been a fun one too.

You know you are my rabbit-lovin’, blue/green decorating, beach lovin’ ‘soul sistah’, so I congratulate you for walking away from that rabbit planter, blue/brown throw, orchid in a green pot and majolica looking green plate! Thank God you didn’t resist that painting. I would have had to send someone down there to check on you and be sure you’re still o.k. God bless you for using restraint. You are a better person than I am. I wish I could find some! ;o) And so does my husband…

Oh, you know me well! I just can’t justify buying anything until I know where I’ll be living next. I have so much stuff in storage, it’s crazy. So, not even a bunny planter needs to come home with me. When I open all my boxes again, it will be like Christmas.

    Hey Rhoda,
Fun Finds is my go to place to find great things for my clients or me! I must have just missed you the day you were in… I had eyed the picture that you bought, went back the next day to purchase it and they said that someone came in right after I left and bought it! So glad that it went to a good home. LOL! That will be one of those misses that I never forget!

This post made me a wee bit homesick! I’m from the Atlanta area and now live in the Philly area. I went to Reinhardt University in Waleska, just next to Canton. There’s not much to do in Waleska, so just about everything we did for entertainment was in Canton or on down into Kennesaw. I wasn’t shopping for home decor back then so I don’t remember these shops (if they were even there then…it’s been a while!). But I’d love to check them out next time I am there for a visit! 🙂

Rhoda, I’m a little behind on my blog reading and just saw your post on Fun Finds and Cherokee Closeouts. I live in Canton and have consigned two pieces of furniture with Fun Finds that sold quickly and for much more than I would have asked for them…even after they receive their 50% commission. I try to stop by there at least once every two weeks just to check their inventory, and the ladies that work there are great. I have also purchased lighting at Cherokee Closeouts. Hope to see you there some time!

How did I miss this! Last week was crazy, and I guess this one just snuck by me on my Google Reader…

Great pictures, and glad to know about Cherokee Closeouts, too. I’m going to share this post with my friends who live up that way!

Oh, and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Loved seeing you talk about my hometown. I have only been gone a year but lived all of my previous 42 years there and it will always be home to my heart.
